It is with profound sadness that I share the passing of my mentor and trusted friend, Dave Sanders.
Everything I know today through Tactical Fi****ms Academy began with Dave. He was the man who started it all. He generously shared his knowledge and decades of experience with me, but even more importantly, he taught me the values that continue to guide TFA today: professionalism, discipline, service, and an unwavering commitment to preparing others.
Dave dedicated nearly 40 years of his life to law enforcement, serving in the Fort Lauderdale Police Department across K9, tactical operations, the Fugitive Squad, and the Training Unit. But his impact can’t be measured by titles or years alone. It lives on through the countless officers, instructors, and students he taught, and through every lesson I now have the privilege of passing forward.
Tactical Fi****ms Academy would not be what it is today without Dave. His guidance helped build its foundation, and his influence will forever remain a part of everything we do.
My deepest condolences are with his wife, Cynthia, his sons, Christopher and Jonathan, and everyone fortunate enough to know and love him.
Rest in peace, Dave. Thank you for your friendship, your mentorship, and a lifetime devoted to serving others. I will always be grateful for everything you taught me, and I will do my best to continue the legacy you began. - Andy
