Mary Beatrice Davidson Kenner was an African-American inventor most noted for her development of the sanitary pad. Due to racial discrimination the idea was not adopted until 1956. She also along with her sister Mildred Davison, was also a prolific inventor; shared the patent of the toilet tissue holder.

It's the National Education Association’s 98th annual celebration of American Education Week. The celebration is also an opportunity for school and community leaders to renew their commitment and support for quality public education for all students.
The 2019 theme, “Reach. Educate. Inspire.", will be reflected throughout the week of activities.
