Dear community, the NASC is extremely excited to announce that we will be bringing the play “Menil & Her Heart” to campus for one night on Friday, February 7, 2020.
The play is by Isabel Madrigal, a Cahuilla Band of Indiana tribal member. The play is inspired by ancient Cahuilla stories as it follows two sisters -played by Madrigal and her real life sister, Sophia Madrigal- one of whom goes missing.
This will be an unforgettable performance and we can’t wait to share this with you!

The popular notion of “Thanksgiving” has long been thought of as a celebration of peace and friendship between Native Americans and Pilgrims. This is a false construction created through colonization and propagated by capitalism and institutional racism. Join us for an evening in which we will deconstruct the westernized Thanksgiving.
This will be our closing out event for Native American Heritage Month and we hope that you all can make it out for a fun and educational experience!
