SC-AAEP kicked off the semester with an awesome talk and dinner from Boehringer Ingelheim! The executive board would like to thank Ken West and Dr. Craig Shoemaker for coming to teach us about a variety of options for joint therapy🐴

We want to say a huge thank you to Steve Jackson from Shamrock Shoeing for coming out to share his knowledge of farriery with SC-AAEP! We got to go over some interesting cases and talk about the importance of veterinarian communication with farriers. No hoof, no horse! 🏇

Our club members recently got to practice their hands-on skills thanks to the amazing Dr. Carroll, Dr. Gray, and Equitarian Initiative. Students were able to assist with providing low-cost care to horses in our community which included everything from physical exams, lameness exams, vaccinations & deworming, to dental procedures. Thank you to everyone who made this event possible!

Our club members had a great time last night at our joint injection wet-lab sponsored by American Regent Animal Health! We learned all about how our equine patients can benefit from Adequan, and learned how to perform intra-articular joint injections. A HUGE thank you to Dr. Cindy Hatfield and our wonderful instructors for making this event possible!

We're so lucky to represent such an amazing organization! Preparing the future equine veterinarians of America🐴
We had an awesome podiatry wet-lab last fall where we learned about the importance of hoof care and shoeing. We even got to learn how to shoe a horse, pictured here featuring our very own Camille MacDermott!

It's about that time! Officially saying goodbye to our 2018-2019 officers and welcoming our new 2019-2020 officers! It was a fantastic year for the outgoing board and we were all so fortunate to serve as WesternU's SC-AAEP executive board. We look forward to attending the future events the incoming officers put on!
