LEADERSHIP TRIVIA
Topic: Flexibility
Not this type of flexibility!
Flexibility
What is flexibility in leadership and why is it important?
Flexibility
Flexibility means to have the ability to be easily modified and the willingness for change or compromise.
A flexible leader is a leader who can modify their style or approach to leadership to respond to situations that might have been uncertain or unexpected. One must match the reality of the situation they find themselves in.
Flexibility
“Stay committed to your decisions, but stay flexible in your approach.” - Tony Robbins
Flexibility
“Flexibility in a time of great change is a vital quality of leadership.” - Brian Tracy
This is an essential leadership skill because change is always happening. Change is inevitable. Our lives do not remain stagnant. These leaders show that they are open to change, can work with different people, and open to new ideas
Flexibility
To help become flexible or be flexible in leadership. Take a pause. Reflect on your day, your leadership skills, and the tasks one must do. This also goes to process and reflect information before sharing your response. This allows time for one to think of possible solutions, responses, and changes they need to make. Being a flexible leader allows productivity to keep flowing.
Flexibility
“The best leaders don’t know just one style of leadership - they’re skilled at several, and have the flexibility to switch between styles as the circumstances dedicate." - unknown
This is another example of flexibility in your leadership. The leadership style that you feel most comfortable with may not work for certain situations and it is important to be able to adapt to different leadership styles.
