The School of Arts + Enterprise is thrilled to welcome Broadway Star and Recording Artist Eden Espinosa to The Fox Theater on November 10th for a special master class as part of our acclaimed Artist + Artist Series. This series offers our young artists the chance to work with amazing professional artists in a collaborative and nurturing environment. Eden Espinosa is most recognized for her critically acclaimed portrayal of Elphaba in "Wicked" on Broadway and Los Angeles and San Francisco. Other credits include originating the title character in "Brooklyn the Musical" on Broadway, Flora in "Flora the Red Menace," and Maureen in the closing company of "Rent" on Broadway.

The SAE is committed to offering students a world-class, culturally inclusive arts education rooted in the idea that Arts Are Academic. Before he returns to Broadway in January, we're thrilled to welcome our newest resident artist, Mr. Reggie De Leon, to The School of Arts + Enterprise.

With over two decades of work on numerous stages and screens across the country, Reggie brings innumerable gifts and experiences to the students of The SAE.  From starring on popular television shows such as Mom, Superior Donuts,  Melissa & Joey, The Newsroom, and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, to starring in the First National Tour of Disney's Aladdin across North America and on Broadway as Iago. Mr. De Leon will share with our students his experiences and support their artistic growth. Reggie will also lead professional engagement with our arts faculty while giving insight on the current state of the professional industry while creating culturally relevant arts pedagogy.

The School of Arts + Enterprise Residency Series is as unique and creative as The SAE. We are offering world class artists, of both local and national profiles the opportunity to share their talents and inspire us here at  The SAE.  All of us at The School of Arts + Enterpirse are honored to welcome Reggie De Leon to our family of Resident SAE Artists!

Join the artists of The School of Arts + Enterprise for our first exhibition of our 22+23 Visual and Performing Arts Season. "SAE SCARES: An Exhibition of Horror" begins this Saturday from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm as part of the 2nd Saturday ArtWalk! SAE SCARES will be shown through November in The Gallery at The Downtown Center in the heart of the Pomona Arts Colony.

You can also experience the start of The SAE's new diversity series, "The SAE Celebrates: Latinx Heritage Month." Featuring performances at The SAE diversity series pop-up beginning at 6:30 pm, and with the opening of our new exhibition, "I Am Latinx: A Través De Nuestros Ojos" (Through Their Eyes) in the Treasury Gallery at The Downtown Center. This exhibition is curated by SAE senior Delila Meraz in collaboration with the works of other Latina artists from The School of Arts + Enterprise.

The SAE is thrilled to announce the appointment of Candida Spahr as our new Director of Dance. After an extensive recruitment process for the new head of dance, Ms. Spahr joins our school and the nationally award-winning SAE ARTS team. Holding a BFA in Dance from Cal State Fullerton, and currently a member of the FUSE Dance Company, Ms. Spahr brings a dynamic artistic skill set to lead SAE DANCE into its next chapter of success.

With a redesigned curriculum focusing on college preparatory skill development, the launch of the new SAE REPertory Dance Company, and commitment to a culturally inclusive arts education, the future is exceptionally bright for our dance students at The School of Arts and Enterprise.

Last week The School of Arts + Enterprise was honored to host The Summer Leadership in partnership with our friends . Arts school leaders from across the country came together from across the country to visit The SAE campuses hosted by Artistic Director and Arts Schools Network Board Member Mr. Phil Miller, meet with Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Jon Gundry and share space, knowledge and inspiration with The SAE's Resident Artist Mr. Jonathan Kirkland. Participants were treated to a tremendous lunch from , a tour of and a special visit to with its Executive Director, Beth Ann Gerstein. The SAE continues to be a national model for accessibility and the power of its nationally award winning arts education. Thank you to all who traveled from near and far to spend a few days with us!

Gean's career at The SAE as an Instrumental Music Major is filled with his unique blend of creativity and kindness. All summer long performances and moments from this event will be shared exclusively here . Graduates Logan Dawson & Co-Valedictorian Alexa Yamila-Ocana were joined by The SAE's Acoustic Guitar Ceremony for a dynamic end to our Ceremony!

Last night, as part of The SAE's Spring Into ART Performance Season, we celebrated the amazing 6 year SAE career of Senior Vocal Music and Dual Musical Theatre Major with The Senior Recital of Alexa Yamila Ocana. Ms. Ocana will be attending NYU's Tisch School of the Arts next year on a full ride scholarship to continue her studies. Alexa was joined in performance in her recital by fellow Senior Logan Dawson, SAE Alumna Sofia Levi (Class of 2018) and current SAE Resident Artist Mr. Jonathan Kirkland in a dynamic evening of reflection, performance and inspiration. During the Recital, SAE Artistic Director Mr. Phil Miller joined Alexa on stage - to share some exciting news with the audience and Alexa.

Congratulations to Alexa and all of our upcoming graduates of the Class of 2022 on their achievements!

At the beginning of the year, our 11th-grade students took initiative and wrote to their political representatives about their concerns for the city of Pomona. On Wednesday, Mayor Sandoval hosted a town hall meeting for them and provided a safe space where they can voice their concerns and ask him questions directly.

Afterward, they took a walk to the Lopez Urban Farm where they met Steve Yorba who shared his love for our planet, our city, and sustainable urban farming. is a 3-acre nonprofit urban farm that’s in partnership with . They provide good access, community education, and an urban green space.

Directly from The GRID Creativity Festival - The SAE is honored to welcome its next Resident Artist, Mr. Jonathan Kirkland to The SAE Family.

From his early career work as Opera singer to his acclaimed performance as George Washington in the Chicago production Hamilton: An American Musical, and his ongoing work across TV and Film - Jonathan brings a highly diverse body of work to our school.

Jonathan will be teaching master classes in performance to both middle school and high school students, working with our arts faculty in a professional development setting and performing live on stage with Senior Alexa Yamila Ocana during her Senior Recital on May 9th. Mr. Kirkland holds Bachelor's of Music in Vocal Performance from Michigan State University and a Master's in Vocal Pedagogy from the University of Houston. Jonathan's passion for The SAE's mission of a tuition free, no-audition-required world class arts education is high - and we can't wait for our students to meet him!

The School of Arts + Enterprise returns to performing and hosting exhibitions this spring. We have planned a season full of plays, musicals, dance and music concerts, as well as showcasing what our visual art department has to offer. Our new Spring into Art season has new and favorite venues while still providing powerful art at the heart of the Pomona Arts Colony. There is no greater experience than SAE students creating and sharing with their community.

As the season unfolds, all performances are free to attend as part of the Free For All ticket initiative in celebration of The SAE being awarded the California Department of Education Exemplary Arts Program. We look forward to safely welcoming audiences back to experience the power of the nationally award-winning work of The School of Arts + Enterprise!

Day one of The Grid Summit was a blast! Our students got the opportunity to experience a series of creativity-exploring workshops, hear industry professionals talk about their journeys, and watch musical performances from their very own SAE classmates!
