On April 11, we celebrated the work of legendary photographer Marvin Rand with a special lecture by Emily Bills of Woodbury University, followed by an exhibition of prints from Rand’s collection at the ENV Archives Gallery.

A special thank you to Vicki Rand for sharing a few words about her father’s work before the lecture, and to Emily Bills for hosting a book signing of “Marvin Rand: California Captured,” published by Phaidon, during the reception.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this memorable celebration.

Thank you to , , and for today’s CSUMAX event!

CSU students, faculty, and staff were invited to the one day conference (for free!) hosted at Cal State Northridge. Panels included discussions about where we’re at with AI in design and entertainment, Adobe’s current and upcoming AI features, AI ethics, and more. Students also had the opportunity to showcase their work, learn about Adobe Creative Apprenticeships, and meet other CSU students as well as creatives from Adobe.

Shout out to the VCD students pictured above who got together to organize carpools to the event! You all rock!

Today we honor and reflect on the legacy left behind by architect Frank Gehry.

Gehry received the Richard Neutra Award for Professional Excellence from in 2018. In this clip from his Neutra Award acceptance and interview for with , he shares how architecture, at its core, is about creating feeling shaped through inert materials that will hopefully stand the test of time.

His belief that great design can move us across centuries continues to guide and inspire.
May he rest in peace.
