One of the saddest things I see every summer is parents feeling like they have to choose between making memories and protecting sleep.

You don’t.

The goal was never perfect sleep.

The goal is raising healthy, well-rested children while creating a childhood they’ll look back on with joy.

Can you stay up for fireworks one night? Absolutely.

Can your little one nap in the tent on the beach? Of course.

Can bedtime stretch a little while cousins or grandparents are visiting? That’s part of making summer special.

The key is remembering that these moments are the exception, not the expectation.

When most sleep stays consistent, those occasional schedule bends are often no big deal. But when every bedtime, wake time, and nap changes from day to day, that’s when sleep can start to go sideways.

That’s why I love what I call the Goldilocks approach to summer sleep.

Not too strict.
Not too flexible.
Just right.

Protect sleep most of the time, leave room for life’s special moments, and enjoy the best of both worlds. 💜🧸

Comment below what’s your family’s favorite summer tradition? ☀️🏖️🎆

A short walk first thing in the morning checks so many boxes for healthy sleep.

☀️ Natural daylight helps reset your body’s internal clock, signaling to your brain that it’s time to be awake now so it can better prepare for sleep later. Try to spend at least 10 minutes outside if you can. (And no, you don’t need to stare at the sun! Simply being outdoors in natural light is enough. But no sun glasses!)

🌿 Nature helps regulate our nervous systems. Whether it’s listening to birds, noticing the trees, or simply breathing fresh air, spending time outside can help your body shift into a calmer, more regulated state.

🚶‍♀️ Movement wakes up the body. A gentle morning walk gets your muscles moving, increases alertness, and helps build a healthy rhythm between daytime activity and nighttime rest.

The best part?

This isn’t just a tip for your little one.

Parents, you need this too.

So tomorrow morning, before checking your email or tackling your to-do list, lace up your sneakers and head outside together—even if it’s just a quick walk around the block.

Your body, your mind, and your sleep will thank you.

Save this as a reminder for tomorrow morning, and share it with a friend who could use a little more sleep this summer. 💜🧸

Everyone thinks I only help babies sleep…

But some of my favorite clients?
💜 elementary-aged kids
💜 teens
💜 and even exhausted adults

Because here’s the truth no one talks about:
If you’re struggling with sleep at any age… there is still hope.

You don’t have to just “deal with it”
You don’t have to keep guessing
And you definitely don’t have to keep running on empty

Most sleep struggles come down to a few key things that are easy to miss—but once you see them, everything starts to make a lot more sense.

That’s exactly why I’m hosting a FREE webinar this Thursday (4/30) where I’m breaking down the sneaky things that could be getting in the way of better sleep.
Whether it’s you, your older child, or your teen… this is your starting point.

If bedtime in your house feels like a full-blown production… you’re not imagining it 😅

The extra water requests
The very specific book demands
The sudden need to use the bathroom 3 times
The disappearing act the second you say “bedtime”

Your little one isn’t trying to make your night harder…
they’ve just gotten really, really good at delaying sleep.

The good news? This is fixable—with the right approach.
I’m hosting a FREE webinar on 4/23 where I’ll walk you through how to:

✔️ break the cycle of bedtime procrastination
✔️ create a routine your little one actually follows
✔️ set boundaries without the nightly power struggle

Because bedtime shouldn’t feel like the hardest part of your day.

I’m hosting a FREE webinar for parents of toddlers who have mastered bedtime procrastination—and I’m showing you how to turn the chaos into calm (without the power struggles).

🤔 Spring forward… do we lose or gain an hour?
Technically, we lose an hour.

BUT I’m here to tell you: you don’t have to lose sleep, EVEN if you’re a parent…

Because little ones don’t wake up by alarm clocks — they wake up by their internal body clocks. And those clocks? They do not get the memo about daylight saving time. So if you follow my plan as stated above, chance are the whole household can sleep in on Sunday!

Instead of losing sleep, lose an hour of laundry, scrolling, or chores instead. Future-you will thank you.
Save this post for Sunday, share it with a tired parent friend, and head to the blog for the full breakdown + examples- you got this 💜🧸

✨Fun fact it’s actually Daylight Saving (no S) Time… but there were more hashtags with the S 😜

Here’s how we protect sleep this weekend 👇
✔ Sleep in by the clock
✔ Get outside
✔ Keep bedtime the same

Lose an hour of laundry 🧺
Lose an hour of scrolling 📱
But don’t lose sleep. 😴

Because tired parents deserve better 💜🧸
