PADESTA had some great events at the PMEA Conference at the Kalahari Resort in the Poconos! We held a reception for current and interested members, presented a distinguished service award, had two string teaching and performing sessions with Dr. Lisa Caravan from the Eastman School of Music, and had our first ever orchestra reading session! A big thank you to Menchey Music Service, Inc. and J R Judd Violins for sponsoring us at the conference!

Young People’s Philharmonic of the Lehigh Valley (Allentown, PA) is searching for a conductor for its Prelude Strings Ensemble. The ideal candidate is a string player with strong music education background, particularly with younger students.

This is a particularly exciting opportunity to build a brand new string group from the ground up. Our target age is grades 3-5. This is also meant to serve as an inclusive place for students who are not quite ready for our junior string group to learn the skills they would need in order to share many years of musical growth together in the YPP family of ensembles.

Position starts in Fall 2026.
