A team of student surveyors from the Surveying Geomatics/Civil Engineering Technology programs along with two team advisors traveled to Washington D.C./Arlington, VA this past year March 30 – April 1, 2022 to participate in the NSPS 21st Annual Student Competition.

Civil Engineering Technology and Surveying Geomatics students got to test drive their new DJI Matrice Drone. The students are trained how to fly and collect data using drones for topographic mapping and construction inspection.
Both programs have over a 90% positive placement rate and online options are available. Spots are still available to get started this fall!

to last summer when the Idaho State University College of Technology Civil Engineering Technology and Surveying Geomatics instructors tested out our new HyDrone made by Seafloor Systems, Inc.
The HyDrone is a lightweight, unmanned surface catamaran developed for hydrographic surveying or under water surface mapping. Students in both programs at the Idaho State University College of Technology will learn how to use the HyDrone in surveying applications, how to both operate it and analyze the data it collects.
