Tuesday, September 1st
9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

We are looking for volunteers to join us in the garden. We'll meet at the tiered beds in front of the trade and technology building directly across the street from the Rendezvous. We're going to spend a couple of hours weeding the beds, sharing carrot seeds, and eating fresh carrots! 🥕🥕🥕🥕🥕🥕🥕🥕🥕🥕😋🌿 Hope you can come 🧡🐯

This morning's garden harvest 😀
You'll find beets 🫜🫜🫜, carrots 🥕🥕🥕, lots of kale and lettuce 🥬🥬🥬, portulaca (a delicious succulent herb with a tang 🌱🌿🌱delicious fresh in salad or cooked in soup 🤤🍲🥗), some arugula, and radish seed pods (spicy good 🔥😋).

Benny's Pantry is open 10am-4pm tomorrow. Students, staff and faculty go get yourself some of these gorgeous greens that were harvested today! 😋😍

There are different kale, arugula (spicy 🔥), red and gold beet greens, sweet radish pods 🤤, and portulaca! If you've never tasted portulaca before you are in for a treat. It's a tangy summer favorite as a succulent addition to a salad 🥗 or cooked into soup 🍲 as a bright flavored natural thickener.

The carrots are starting to come on! What a beautiful morning in the garden! Thank you to all the volunteers, Benny's Pantry staff and greenhouse staff! I'm so grateful for you. 🥰 There is lots and lots of fresh lettuce, kale, and radish seed pods (imagine if a radish and a sweet pea had a baby 😘😋😋😋) down at the pantry. It was harvested this morning. Go get some! They are open Friday 10 am until 2:00 pm.

Huge shout out to the ISU moving crew that got my babies safely into their temporary home at the Rendezvouses! They did a great job moving the plants and more importantly putting up with me. 😆🫣🥰 It's feeling really lonely in the Plant Sciences Building. I'm really excited about this remodel though. It's going to be amazing!

Join IMNH paleontologists and paleobotanists as we explore the world of dinosaur-aged plants. A rare site has been discovered in Idaho that offers a glimpse into what plants surrounded Idaho's dinosaurs during the time of Oryctodromeus. Help us open up the quarry and dig some of these rare fossils that will help us better understand this lost world. Includes all tools, training, and transportation from Pocatello.
