POCATELLO — Amid the bustle of excited chattering children, the local community bid farewell to Washington Elementary School during a final assembly Wednesday afternoon.

Washington Elementary Advocates along with the faculty and staff of Washington Elementary invite you to an assembly to close this beautiful chapter of Washington's story!

In addition to speakers on school history/memories, we will acknowledge the oldest alumni/teachers who may be present. As a highlight, the Advocates recently sponsored a writing contest for Washington's 4th and 5th Graders. The winners will be announced at the assembly and a few students will be invited to read from their entries. Our contest was entitled: "If Washington School Could Speak." Learners were asked to share what they thought the school might tell the world after over 100 years. We expect some real wisdom (and entertainment) to emerge from their thoughts!

We hope you can join us! Please feel free to use this invitation to invite others from our community. The event will be held outside -- please bring a chair and dress accordingly!
