The Department of Sociology, Social Work, and Criminology at Idaho State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in criminology and sociology beginning August 2025. We seek applicants who can teach courses in policing, as well as other core and elective courses in criminology and sociology, including research methods and/or statistics.

SOWK 6699: Special Topic in Family Violence
Fall 2024 | M 6:00 - 8:50 PM | Classroom | Online
Instructor: Jona Jacobson, DSW | LCSW

Students will examine elements of Family Violence (including Domestic Violence and Intimate Partner Violence) in relation to clinical research, practical experience, and the legal system response to violence.

Students will analyze the needs of perpetrators of Domestic/Intimate Partner/Family Violence.

Students will analyze the needs of survivors of Domestic/Intimate Partner/Family Violence.

Students will identify community resources that serve people directly impacted by D/IP/F Violence.

Students will demonstrate knowledge of dynamics that increase the risk of D/IP/F Violence.

Students will develop skills that will allow them to work with people directly impacted by D/IP/F Violence.
