Branch Academy

Hello, first day of fall! 🍂 We learned about the season in the morning, then packed our lunches and headed out on a hike to explore what we had discovered. We worked together to build a shelter, found logs to sit on, practiced teamwork, and searched for interesting rocks and flowers. We enjoyed lunch under the trees during a rainstorm, played in the washed-out path, and ended the day with a cup of hot cocoa.

Our second week of school started off swimmingly! 🏊‍♀️

We had our first swim lesson with British Swim School at our local Gold’s Gym, and it was such an awesome experience! The instructors were wonderful, and our students had so much fun building confidence in the water. We’re excited to partner with them throughout the school year!

Branch Academy still has a couple of openings for the 2026–2027 school year. If you’re looking for a faith-based, hands-on learning experience for your child, we’d love to connect with you! 🌿

Z is for Zzz… 😴🌿

We made it all the way to Z!

Today we’re taking one last day to rest, reset and probably finish about a hundred little things behind the scenes. 😂

And then tomorrow morning, a dream we’ve talked about, prayed about, planned for and worked toward officially begins.

We definitely don’t have every detail figured out, and I’m sure we’ll learn a whole lot right alongside our kids. But we’re ready.

Ready to open the doors.
Ready to welcome our kids.
Ready to see what God does with this little dream.

And if you’ve been following along and feeling that little tug that Branch Academy might be where your child is supposed to be this year, it’s not too late. We still have a couple of spots available, and we would love to welcome your family into our little schoolhouse.

Here’s to the very first year of Branch Academy.

See you tomorrow. 🤍

Y is for Young Entrepreneurs 🌿

We have some big plans for our little farm stand, but it’s about so much more than selling a few things.

Our kids will get to dream up ideas, make and grow things they’re proud of, figure out what they cost, set a price and actually sell them.

Then comes the really good stuff: learning what they earned, what needs to be reinvested, what they can save and what they can give.

We want them to learn early that their ideas have value, hard work matters and they’re capable of creating something from the ground up.

They may be little, but their ideas don’t have to be.

X is for X Marks the Spot 🗺️

One thing you’ll quickly learn about Branch Academy is that we probably won’t always be where you left us. 😂

Our classroom might be at a farm, on a trail, near a creek, visiting a local business, spending time with our elders, fishing or exploring somewhere completely unexpected.

We want our kids to see that learning happens all around them, not just sitting at a desk.

So this year, X marks the spot… wherever that spot happens to be.

W is for Work 🌿

We aren’t afraid of a little hard work around here.

Sometimes work will look like finishing a math lesson. Other times it might be pulling weeds, feeding animals, cleaning up a mess, baking bread, helping a friend or sticking with something even when it gets hard.

We want our kids to learn that work is a good thing.

There’s confidence that comes from being given a real responsibility, working through it and being able to step back and say, “I did that.”

Our kids are capable of so much, and we want to give them opportunities to discover that for themselves.

V is for Volunteering

We want our kids to grow up looking for ways they can help.

Sometimes that might mean cleaning up a space in our community, making something for someone who needs encouragement, helping at a local organization, or simply noticing when someone could use an extra set of hands.

It doesn’t have to be big to matter.

We want serving others to become something that feels natural to our kids, not because they have to, but because they understand the joy that comes from giving their time and helping someone else.

Little hands can do a whole lot of good.

U is for Unplugged 🌿

We’re not anti-technology, but we are pretty big fans of letting kids be kids.

Getting outside. Getting dirty. Building something. Opening a book. Having conversations. Using their imaginations. Learning how to be bored long enough to create something.

Technology has its place, but we don’t want it to replace the experiences that make childhood so good.

At Branch Academy, we’re making room for a little more unplugged childhood.
