🌧️🌬️ GILL TROPHY CHAMPS 🌬️🌧️

Caroline & Ceci take the WIN at the Gill Trophy, finishing 1st out of 37 boats in some seriously gnarly conditions. Three days of racing, big breeze, and plenty of rain — and these two absolutely delivered.

The Gill Trophy is the Southern Mass Sailing Association’s Junior Women’s Championship, bringing together some of the best young female sailors around, and Caroline & Ceci showed exactly what it takes to come out on top. From incredible boat speed to next-level teamwork and absolutely dialed-in decision making, these two were in a league of their own all week.

Huge congratulations to this powerhouse duo on an unreal regatta and a well-earned GILL TROPHY CHAMPIONSHIP!!! 🏆⛵️

🇨🇦 C420 North Americans 🇨🇦

That’s a wrap on the C420 North Americans on Lake Ontario! With light breeze keeping us ashore for 2 of the 4 days, the fleet got 7 races in across some seriously competitive conditions.

Roger & Matty finished 32nd overall and in Gold Fleet, with an awesome 2nd-place finish along the way! Ceci & Caroline finished 97th overall, earning a spot in Silver Fleet in a fleet of 170 boats.

A challenging week, some great racing, and plenty of experience gained at one of the biggest events of the summer! ⛵️

What a week on the Vineyard. ⛵️🌊

Four Buzzards boats made the four-hour sail across to Martha’s Vineyard for a week of unforgettable racing. From the moment we arrived, the conditions tested every sailor. Strong winds all week—and Tuesday’s Edgartown Regatta brought some of the toughest racing of the season, with gusts approaching 40 mph, countless capsizes, and a true test of skill, perseverance, and teamwork.

Despite the challenging conditions, our sailors rose to the occasion. Congratulations to Roger & Matty on their 3rd place finish, John & Liam on a Top 5 finish, and Ceci & Caroline on earning a Top 10 finish at Edgartown!

The week continued at the Vineyard Haven Regatta, where Roger & Matty finished 1st, and brothers Will & John sailed to an impressive 2nd place finish.

It was a week defined by determination, sportsmanship, and resilience. Four boats set sail for the Vineyard… but only three returned home together. Safe to say, it’s a trip none of us will forget.

What a weekend at the New Bedford Junior Regatta! ⛵️

We were proud to send four boats to compete in two days of great racing against sailors from across the region. Congratulations to Roger and Matty on an impressive 2nd place finish! 🎉

The fun didn’t stop on the water—Paula had some incredible luck, winning the raffle twice, while Roger, Caroline, and Matty also took home raffle prizes.

We’re so proud of all of our sailors for their hard work, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the weekend. Way to represent The Buzzards Sailing School!

The Tall Ships are passing through the Cape Cod Canal this week as they sail from New York City to Boston for Sail Boston 2026 and the Five Sisters Cup. Among them is the USCGC Eagle! We’re especially excited because several Buzzards Sailing School alumni are aboard these incredible ships—keep an eye on the Canal, you might spot a familiar face! ⛵
