Head Start parents and caregivers across the country are speaking up about the proposed changes to the Head Start standards.

More than 10,000 people have already signed NHSA’s national Parent Sign-On letter, and there is still time to bring even more family voices into the conversation.

Encourage the parents and caregivers in your program to add their names by September 30, 2026, and to say what they want decision-makers to protect.

Head Start parents and caregivers, here is something worth knowing.

A good classroom takes a whole team behind it. People run the background checks, keep the building safe, and support the teachers so they can focus on your child.

The new proposed federal rule would cut the money that pays for that team so deeply that programs might not be able to keep them. And a budget cap cannot tell the difference between wasted paperwork and a background check that keeps your child safe.

If you are a Head Start parent or caregiver, please sign the Parent Sign-On Letter and stand with families across the country.

Tomorrow is going to be a busy day for us. We will be having our first parent meeting tomorrow, September 10, 2026 at 4:00 PM. Please come and join us at this time and be involved in the parent committee. Also, we will be having a special guest in our center tomorrow. We will be using the Wise Baby Nutritional Activities tomorrow during the day. If you are interested in being present during these activities with your child please come in and join us. They will be there throughout lunch time with us. If you know anyone who is interested in enrolling in our program, please contact Janet at 870-202-1491. We are a school readiness program and we do applications throughout the whole year.
