Families are encouraged to sign up for the Pocahontas School Food Pantry Program.

Family pantry food bags are available for pickup each Thursday at the MDW crosswalk from 2:00–3:00 p.m. and again from 3:30–4:15 p.m. after buses leave campus.

Families who participated in the summer pantry program are automatically enrolled and do not need to sign up again.

If you did not participate this summer and would like to receive a weekly food bag, you may sign up at any time by contacting Shannon Barr at 870-892-4573 ext. 3204 or 870-834-4586.

📢 EARLY RELEASE WEDNESDAY REMINDER

As we prepare for 1:45 PM Early Release today, please remember that student checkouts and phone communication will be limited after 1:15 PM. Please take care of any checkouts, transportation changes, or necessary communication before that time whenever possible.

Buses will run at their NORMAL dismissal times. Students who remain on campus after 1:45 PM will be supervised and actively engaged in educational activities, academic support, and meaningful learning opportunities until regular dismissal.

Although Pocahontas School District participates in Provision 2, every household must still submit a meal application this school year.

These applications are essential to help our district maintain eligibility for Provision 2 in the future and continue supporting programs that benefit our students and schools.

📢 PES | EARLY RELEASE WEDNESDAY UPDATE

Early Release will occur this Wednesday!

As a reminder, PES asks that student checkouts be completed by 1:15 PM on Early Release Wednesdays.

As dismissal approaches, our office staff will be focused on coordinating students, transportation, and dismissal procedures. Because of this, office and phone communication will be limited after 1:15 PM.

Please plan ahead for any early checkouts. Thank you for helping us keep dismissal safe, organized, and running smoothly!

📢 TODAY is our first Early Release Wednesday! ❤️🤍

As we navigate our first Early Release Wednesday across Pocahontas School District, here are a few important reminders for dismissal:

🕐 Early Release is at 1:45 PM for students whose dismissal plans allow them to leave campus early.

🚌 Buses will run at their REGULARLY scheduled times. Buses will not run at 1:45 PM.

🏫 Students who are not leaving at 1:45 PM will remain on campus, supervised, until their normal dismissal time.

📞 If you have questions or need to communicate a change in your student's dismissal or transportation plans, please contact your child's building directly.

Since this is our very first Early Release Wednesday, we appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as our students, staff, and families adjust to the new routine. Your cooperation will help us make the process better each time!

📢 PES Families: Early Release Wednesday Reminder!

As we prepare for our first Early Release Wednesday, we are asking all PES parents and guardians to please let your child's teacher know before Wednesday what their transportation plan will be for the day.

Please communicate whether your child will:

🚗 Be picked up at 1:45 PM
🚌 Ride the bus at the regular dismissal time
🏫 Remain at school until regular dismissal for another form of transportation

Remember: buses will NOT run early. All buses will run at their regularly scheduled dismissal times.

Clear communication will help us make our first Early Release Wednesday run as smoothly and safely as possible. Please reach out to your child's teacher with their plan before Wednesday.

Our students and staff recently came together for a special surprise for one of our beloved SROs, Officer Cat, as she prepares to travel and continue her health journey.

Officer Cat is a familiar face, a trusted friend, and such a special part of our school family. We wanted to make sure she knows just how many people are in her corner, sending her love, encouragement, and support every step of the way.
