AOTA conference in Anaheim: I realized I'm actually not looking for a "seat at the table". I am already doing the work. What matters more is the company I choose to sit with, the professional relationships that shape perspective, challenge thinking, and create space for meaningful conversation.
This group represents an incredible network of state association presidents, and I'm proud to be here with them representing New Hampshire.

Strong collaboration is underway across New Hampshire’s therapy professions 🤝
Pictured here: Chris Dunstan, President of NHOTA, alongside Wendy Lybrand, President of NHSHLA, and Tracie Adams, President of APTA–NH—leaders representing Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, and Physical Therapy.
Together, we are building a unified coalition focused on improving access to related services across New Hampshire. Through ongoing collaboration, joint meetings with our lobbyists, and engagement with state representatives, we are working to ensure that individuals and families receive the services they need—when and where they need them.
This is what progress looks like: alignment, advocacy, and a shared commitment to better outcomes statewide.

Pre-approval! SB 480 is ready to support. Take the time to advocate!
YOUR ADVOCACY IS NEEDED!
SB480, Limiting certain prior authorization requirements for physical therapy, occupational therapy, and similar rehabilitative services, is a bill that would require insurance companies allow 12 visits before asking for authorization. Currently, insurance companies often require the clinician to submit the evaluation prior to continued treatment being authorized. The approval process can legally take up to 30 days before authorization is approved.
This bill would prevent that gap in care, and assure that clients receive the services they need in a timely manner without the fear of denial.
It is a bipartisan bill, which will help support successful passage HOWEVER, that is not a guarantee. We are asking you to reach out to the committee members now to let them know that you support SB480. If you have an anecdote that is appropriate to share, personal stories have impact.
Go to: nhota.org/advocacy to read the bill and for resources for the health committee with a sample letter to advocate!
