Congratulations to our Armstrong Theatre students on an outstanding performance at last week's Spotlight Showcase! 🎭✨

Our students had an incredible experience representing Armstrong and showcasing their hard work and talent alongside schools from across Minnesota.

We are especially proud to share that out of 110 participating schools, Armstrong was one of only 13 schools in the state to receive an Outstanding rating in all three major categories—a remarkable achievement that reflects the dedication of our students and theatre program.

Congratulations to everyone involved on this well-deserved recognition!

🥳 We're incredibly proud to share that four members of the Robbinsdale Area Schools Class of 2026 - Madison Vroman, Terris Fitten, Landon Camacho, and Jazmin Tlaseca - were selected as Rdale Grow Your Own Scholarship Award Recipients! ✨Each of these graduates will receive up to $25,000 in tuition support to enroll in undergraduate teacher preparation programs at a college or university in Minnesota as they pursue teaching. Please join us in congratulating these fantastic future educators! 🌟

Grow Your Own programs, supported by the Minnesota Department of Education, are partnerships between districts, charter schools, service cooperatives, or Tribally-controlled schools, and teacher preparation programs that help local residents—such as parents, school staff, and students—become teachers in their own communities, with a focus on diversifying the teacher workforce by prioritizing candidates of color and Indigenous candidates.

🎶 Earlier this year, during spring break, the Armstrong Symphonic Band spent four days in New York City, visiting Times Square, The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, Rockefeller Center, Central Park, 9/11 Memorial, Little Italy and Chinatown, American Museum of Natural History, and "The Great Gatsby" on Broadway. This was part of the National Band & Orchestra Festival hosted by WorldStrides, culminating in a performance of the Robbinsdale Armstrong Symphonic Band in the historic and prestigious Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage of Carnegie Hall. ✨

The Armstrong Band applied for this opportunity by submitting and gaining acceptance with an audition recording in the Spring of 2025. Bands and Orchestras from across the country were a part of the two-day festival, coming from California, Washington, Florida, North Carolina, and Texas, with the Armstrong Band being the only ensemble from Minnesota.
