What a wonderful week at the Hillsdale K–12 Education Summer Conference! 💙 🤍 🇺🇸

Our faculty and staff spent the week learning alongside educators from classical schools across the country, gathering new ideas, and enjoying one another’s fellowship.

There were many memorable moments from the week, including our very own Brittany Morris taking first place in the women’s eliminator race during the America 250 barbecue!

We are grateful for the opportunity to continue learning together as a staff. We leave Hillsdale refreshed, encouraged, and inspired for the work ahead!

From the laughter and dancing that greeted each student this morning to the final walk of our 6th graders through the halls they helped shape! This school year has been marked by joy, growth, and gratitude. Now, the adventures of summer await! Have a great break, Ivywood families!

Under the direction of Mrs. Sturdy, Ivywood’s 6th Grade Band had the honor of performing the National Anthem on Sunday during the Toledo Mud Hens game!

It was a wonderful opportunity for students to take part in a tradition that brings communities together and celebrates our country and its freedoms. ⚾️ 🎶 🇺🇸

As a special bonus, a portion of their performance was featured on the game broadcast. Congratulations to our young musicians on a job well done!

ICA fourth graders bring grammar to life in their study of Anne of Green Gables. 📚

Students used their knowledge of sentence structure to write about Anne’s adventures, carefully diagram their sentences, and creatively illustrate their work.

What a beautiful example of writing, literature, and art coming together in the classroom!

Today we remember with gratitude those who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is part of the inheritance we receive and the responsibility we carry. 🇺🇸

On Friday during our All-American Picnic, students and families gathered for a Memorial Wreath Presentation led by American Heritage Girls and Trail Life. As Hero Cards were displayed, our community paused to remember the lives, service, and sacrifice of those who gave it all for our country.

From all of us at Ivywood, we wish our families a meaningful Memorial Day as we remember together.

ICA celebrates the Fine Arts! Ivywood Classical Academy’s Lower and Upper School students shared artwork, musical performances, and poetry recitations with family and friends. These evenings offered a beautiful reminder that the fine arts are not separate from education but part of forming students who recognize and delight in what is good and beautiful.

Thank you so much to all our teachers, students, volunteers and families who helped make these evenings possible. We are grateful for a community that values the fine arts and celebrates them together!

Winston Churchill once said, “A love for tradition has never weakened a nation, indeed it has strengthened nations in their hour of peril.” At Ivywood, our young scholars remind us that leadership, character, and love for country begin with the next generation. 🇺🇸

First Grade students present “Yankee Doodle!” 🇺🇸
Patriotic songs learned in music class give students an intentional way to engage with the history they’re studying! Scholars are connecting melody and memory to the story of our nation’s founding. Our curriculum gives students a variety of ways to connect themes across subjects and bring learning to life!
