Good afternoon!
Lt. Bierly and I will be leaving for Rockland shortly. It is about 3.5 hours for us. We'll be staying at the Comfort Inn in Rockland if you need us for any reason. Also, Ken Sellers, Paul Brundige, Matthew Cronin, Kim Perlotto, and Auggie all have my cell number if needed. See everyone bright and early at 8am. 🙂
Godspeed,
Todd

From the NEB:
Brothers and sisters,
I just got off the phone with our Rockland host, Paul Brundige. The weather for Saturday went from crappy to horrible. Paul is not discouraging anyone from coming Friday evening, but the forecast has become so bad that the event itself will not start until 8am sharp on Sunday. I repeat, the event is off until Sunday at 8AM.
Please feel free to bring a dog tent with you in case we need to set up some sort of camp for the tourists on Sunday.
I will most likely be leaving western CT Saturday afternoon and get a motel room so that I can be in camp before 8am.
Please still come if you can on Sunday.
Be safe,
Todd
Have a happy and safe Memorial Day!
From the NEB:
Brothers and sisters,
I exchanged emails with Paul Brundige who is the host of next weekend's event in Rockland. As of yesterday, he had 9 people registered ...... 9. Please let that sink in. We voted to support this event, and Paul has been working hard to make it happen, and we have 9 registered. We only have 3 battle weekends for the NEB this year. With so few events, we should certainly have numbers than that. Please, register ASAP.
Todd
From the NEB:
Brothers and sisters,
I have been speaking with Auggie. People need to contact her ASAP if they are coming to the drill. We may be in danger of having to cancel if we don't get sufficient numbers.
PLEASE contact Auggie NOW!
Todd
From the NEB:
Brothers and sisters,
If you are attending our Brigade Drill Day on Saturday May 16, (and I hope that you are), please be on the parade ground and ready to go at 9am. We'll start with Sgt.'s drill followed by company drill and finish off with battalion drill. You know what I always say, I day without drill is like a day without sunshine.
See you soon!
Col. Bryda
From the NEB:
Brothers and sisters,
If you are are from CT and are going to the Drill event Friday evening, please consider bringing some firewood for the pits of those who are staying. I will be coming in early Sat. morning. We were just told that the host does not have wood to spare for this event. All help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Todd
From the NEB:
Brothers and sisters,
I know that you haven't heard a lot from me as of late (you are welcome :) ), but as the season is starting to approach, and as your military commander, I wanted to drop a line or two.
Rule #1 - "When in doubt, Contact Auggie."
Rule #2 - If confused, refer to Rule #1. :)
Seriously, Auggie is THE event coordinator for New England Civil War events. Hosts need to work with her so that we can all support your events.
Our first event as a Brigade is the mutually voted upon Drill Day at Wickham Park. Auggie has arranged so that folks can come in Friday, May 15 if they wish. If you can't, Drill Day starts at 9am sharp on Saturday. PLEASE REGISTER NOW (https://www.newenglandbrigade.com/media-folder)
Our next event comes a few weeks later, Hartsuff Park, Rockland, MA, May 29-31, 2026. This is our friend Paul Brundige's event, and we voted to support it. Forms are on our site.
Lastly, I need to clarify something about the July 24th – 26th event in Chesterfield, NH. We didn't have any information about it in January, but since it was being hosted by our brothers in the 3rd Maine, we were gung ho to support it and voted accordingly. Subsequently, Matt Bray, Auggie, and I have had several email conversations. There has been a misunderstand. The event is still happening and sounds like a great tactical event, but this is NOT an NEB event. This is a 3rd Maine event. Matt has opened it up to members of the NEB, but we will not be in command or play any role whatsoever as an organization. I miss those days when I could do those campaigner events, but that was a long time ago and before my lung disease. We wish Matt the best, and if you want to go, please contact Matt directly. The info is on our webpage.
That's all for now. I hope to see you at Wickham Park!
Yours,
Todd M. Bryda
