About Franconia Ski Club

Knower Academics partners with Franconia Ski Club to offers instruction that empowers our snow sport athletes to maintain academic excellence while they train and compete at Cannon Mountain. Our academic winterm programs for 2021-2022 have been designed to dovetail with training schedules, manage diverse curriculum models, and provide academic structure.

About the Internship

Knower Academics is seeking a developing instructor who will serve as a positive role model while supervising students through academic work completion at our Cannon Mountain instructional outpost. Desired Qualities

Working toward a Bachelor's degree with specialization in Education, Outdoor Education, STEM, English Language Arts, or Foreign Language.
Passion for teaching and education.
Versatile skill set and interested in learning/teaching multiple subjects.
Able to connect with students. Can teach material in engaging ways to diverse learning styles.
Has a positive, solution-oriented attitude.
Has a desire to work for Knower Academics long term.
Available for regularly-scheduled instruction.
Requirements

Must pass a background check.
Reliable transportation (all wheel drive or four wheel drive preferred for commuting through Franconia Notch during snowy conditions).
Available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. to provide in-person student support. Additional optional hours available on Monday morning and Friday afternoons.
Able to connect with students.
Able to work independently. Is timely and patient.
Clear communicator with the ability to work well and empathize with others.
Professional demeanor and excellent organizational skills.
Responsibilities

Communicate in a professional, compassionate manner with all stakeholders, including students, families, teachers, and co-workers.
Assume a high level of personal responsibility for your students and their academic progress.

Part-time Instructor

$30/hr starting wage for instruction hours.
