The purpose of Tai Chi Chuan is to feel good. Learning Tai Chi Chuan starts with the slow movements.

One time a tai chi master, who was also a great chef, was preparing one of his specialties for a few of his students who had gathered with their teacher after class as was their wont. They were asking many questions about how the shrimp came out so delicious---"Do you heat the pan before adding the oil?" "How hot should the oil be before adding the shrimp?" "How long do you cook it?" The master replied, "I don't know anything. I just pay attention".
