Congrats to four Buzzhockey alumni who played in this year's Olympics. Ben Meyers & Sam Hengtes represented the Men's team. Dani Cameranesi & Kelly Pannek won silver medals for the Women. They also won gold in the 2018 Olympics. Elite players like these four athletes work incredibly hard. Buzzhockey is very proud of all they have accomplished and grateful for the opportunity to have trained them. This Fall my former line mate and roommate, Pat Conlin, called because he needed a new car. It was great catching up with my good friend and I was happy to get him this beautiful Toyota Camry. Pat was a prolific goal scorer. I would pass him the puck and just put my arms in the air. When I started coaching, it was Pat’s brother John who assisted me in starting Buzzhockey. We are now preparing for our 35th summer of training young hockey players. I am humbled to think about the number of skaters I have had the pleasure to work with including Pat’s daughter Clara and John’s two kids TJ and Courtney. 2021 Summer schedules are currently posted. It is pretty gratifying to assist a friend in finding the right vehicle to meet their needs. This sale took place back in April during the COVID-19 lockdown and the layers to this sale made it really special. Tom Fotopoulos is a friend who I graduated with from Hibbing. Tom's wife Patty is also from Hibbing and is the daughter of George Perpich, my former high school hockey coach. Tom and Patty's son, Chris, attended Buzzhockey as a youth player. It was pretty special to be able to train the son of a long time friend. Chris is a great kid and I remember his tremendous work ethic and progress. Pretty humbling to work with the grandson of your former coach. Dial forward to this beautiful spring day in April where I delivered a Lexus RX350 to Tom and Patty. We have been blessed over the past 34 years to train not only great athletes but also some very special people. During this unprecedented time, it has been humbling to look back at the names and memories that were created. I want to thank all the past alumni of Buzzhockey for your dedication and support.
