While we try to remain neutral on political issues, there is one we can’t avoid: Ballot Question 9.
The initial legislation, MGL Chapter 135, was passed in 2024. Citizens organized a petition to stop the law until a referendum vote could be made. Gov. Maura Healey many weeks later, after more than 100k signatures were collected, attached an emergency preamble, circumventing the fair exercise of the citizens’ democratic process. Where was the emergency when it was first enacted?

What’s wrong with Chap 135? Why should I vote No on 9?

In MA 10 times more people die from drug overdose than from fi****ms.

Twice as many people die by from rope and strangulation than by fi****ms.

Violent criminals are releases on low bails only to reoffend, but Chap 135 burdens non-violent citizens with complex regulations and financial costs.

If your Second Amendment rights can be tramples upon, than any of your rights can be. When you vote on Nov 3rd, remember it’s just you, a ballot and a pen in that box. You should vote for what is moral and just. Vote No on 9

What’s wrong with Chap 135? Why should I vote No on 9?
The law erodes due process, expanding the petitioners of Extreme Risk Protections Orders to people other than Public Safety and requires a lesser burden of proof.

The law redefines many common terms and expands definitions making the law hard to understand for those trusted to enforce it, leading to inconsistent enforcement.

The law makes many gun owners into felons, almost overnight, including the same law enforcement officers who enforce this law. That’s right, cops can become felons, because this law is so fundamentally flawed.

The law prevents tourists coming to MA to participate in hunting and competitive shooting.

According to ATF data, about 4 out of 5 guns used in a crime do not belong to the assailant. That’s means about 80% of guns used in crime are procured illegally. This law doesn’t stop that or punish criminals more severely. It creates more criminals, just because.

Victims of domestic violence or others who might want to use defensive chemicals like pepper spray, must now apply for a permit after going through training on fi****ms. The two don’t go together and administratively burdens people who need protection quickly.

Every day we continue to support first responders. 25 years ago they needed more than a just a prayer. As we remember 9/11, try to do a good deed today, not tip your barista, but something truly meaningful. 25 years ago terror struck at the core of our nation’s soul. Let’s counter hate with love. Let your light cast away the darkness. God bless the United States of America.

This is certainly one issue that we are passionate about. We encourage every voter to be informed when they cast their ballot . This should be a worthwhile debate. Check it out.

Tomorrow is Memorial Day. Originally called Decoration Day, Memorial Day traces its origins to the aftermath of the Civil War, when communities across the United States began holding local ceremonies to decorate the graves of fallen soldiers. The first national commemoration was held at Arlington National Cemetery on May 30, 1868. As time passed, the holiday has come to be both a solemn day of remembrance and the unofficial start of summer. Congress moved it from May 30 to the final Monday in May in 1971. As you enjoy your well deserved weekend, remember the real meaning of Memorial Day break, take time to reflect on the legacies of those military service members who fought for your rights, paving the way for the privileges we enjoy today.
