Does anyone remember reading The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas in ENG 499? Meg Albrinck, Professor of Literature and Writing, just returned from Boston, where she presented a paper at the Modernist Studies Association conference on the revolutionary space of Gertrude Stein's home at 27 rue de Fleurus in Paris.

Still looking for more literary opportunities this week? Support English alum Janet DeJean Newton and her students at Plymouth High School by attending their production of Dickens's Nicholas Nickleby. “Nicholas Nickleby” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, and Saturday, Nov. 7, with a matinee at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, in the PHS auditorium, 125 Highland Ave. General admission tickets are $6 and are available in the high school office and at the box office prior to show time.

Don't miss the wonderful work of the Young Chicago Authors while they're still in town! They're leading a writing workshop on Thursday at 5 p.m. and a spoken word event at Paradigm on Saturday. And in between? They're stopping out at Lakeland. Find your voice and join in!

Writing workshop at the Arts Center: Bring an object or picture that represents Sheboygan in your eyes.

Saturday, October 24, 6:00 p.m.
Wordplay workshop and performance at Paradigm Coffee & Music, 1202 N. 8th St., Sheboygan
Participants of all ages and skill levels perform their original work and enjoy poetry by artists in residence. If you’d like to perform, we suggest you participate in the workshop. Spots fill up fast.
