Bottom line: David, as a Canadian, feels that Trump has been bullying Canada and that his actions are hurting many people around the world. This has to stop.

Lately, I have been reading more Fox News coverage because I want to better understand how its viewers and voters feel about our country. Going forward, I will occasionally post information and sources from Fox News for discussion.

According to a Fox News poll conducted July 17–20, 2026, voters had a much more favorable view of capitalism than socialism: 50% viewed capitalism favorably, compared with 30% who viewed socialism favorably.

Given those numbers, I am trying to understand why socialism has become such a major topic of discussion and concern in American politics. If most Americans still favor capitalism over socialism, why are some people increasingly calling for socialist policies—or being accused of promoting socialism?
