Little Scholars Preschool

It's important to park your cars while you enjoy your morning snack at Little Scholars Preschool! We provide wholegrain crackers in the morning and fresh fruit in the afternoon. When children arrive to school, they are encouraged to listen to their bodies as they decide whether or not they'd like snack. This allows children to practice understanding their own hunger cues.

One of my favorite things about early childhood education is seeing children process what they've learned independently through play. One of our students used chalk to write out the alphabet the best he could without copying the letters or tracing. This was something he decided to do with his free choice time!

This "sink vs float" activity combines concepts within both Science and engineering! Students began by testing natural items in the pool to decide what types of object sink and what types of objects float. They then took what they learned to build lego creations that could float!

It takes a lot of focus to build such a tall tower with small blocks! This students can be seen carefully placing blocks one on top of the other, practicing her coordination in order to keep her tower stable.

We used dinosaurs to practice some categorizing and sorting! This month we are going to learn about different types of dinosaurs. To begin noticing the differences between them we sorted them by how many feet they have!
