The Food Service Technology Center (FSTC) was opened in 1987 as a fuel-neutral scientific testing facility for benchmarking the energy performance of equipment used in commercial kitchens. (PG&E) and operated by Fisher-Nickel, inc. and is the most valuable resource for the commercial food service industry. Along with a library of information on equipment performance, the FSTC provides expertise in commercial kitchen ventilation, water heating and building energy efficiency, including lighting, glazing and HVAC.

The 2026 American Public Power Association (APPA) Cybersecurity & Technology Summit was a hit! Frontier Energy’s Tammy Wis-Wolo connected with utility IT and technology professionals from across the country to explore key industry challenges, including cybersecurity maturity, AI governance, IT/OT coordination, asset visibility, incident response and rapidly growing data center loads.

California Dreamin’ ☀️🌴

Last week, members of the Frontier Energy team visited Petaluma, California, for the 2026 CABEC (California Association of Building Energy Consultants) Conference!

This year’s conference brought together energy consultants and industry professionals to explore the latest developments in California’s energy landscape, including the 2025 Energy Code, building electrification, energy modeling, distributed energy resources and emerging technologies.

We enjoyed the opportunity to learn, connect with industry peers and continue the conversation around advancing energy efficiency and decarbonizing the built environment.

Our President Adam and Matt recently headed north to Montreal for AESP Flex Connect Conference, where Adam also attended the inaugural meeting of AESP Canada.

A major takeaway from the conference? Data analysis, reporting and evaluation will play an important role in accelerating demand flexibility and helping establish it as a reliable grid resource across the U.S. and Canada.

“That sounds a lot like Frontier,” Adam said.
