A recent Cell Reports study found that different forms of amyloid-β42 (Aβ42) can trigger distinct toxic effects in neurons and microglia—offering new insight into how amyloid pathology may contribute to Alzheimer’s disease.

The researchers used AAT Bioquest’s Cal-520® AM calcium indicator to study changes in calcium signaling associated with Aβ42 toxicity.
