๐Ÿ› ๏ธโœจ Fairlands librarian Mrs. G turns Thursday snack recess into a โ€œMaker-Spaceโ€ full of creativity and discovery!

School libraries are more than books, theyโ€™re places where student can create, explore, and discover.

Each Thursday, students tinker, design, and build while developing STEM skills through hands-on learning.

PPIE is proud to support school libraries that spark curiosity, creativity, collaboration, and a lifelong love of learning!

๐Ÿ“š ๐ŸŒˆ โ€œPPIE funding helps maintain library services across Pleasanton schools, ensuring students continued to have access to books, research resources, technology, and welcoming learning spaces throughout the entire school day. Librarians support not only literacy development but also critical thinking, information literacy, and a love of learning that extends beyond the classroom.โ€ - Stacie Palmer, Mohr Elementary Librarian

๐Ÿ“ˆ Weโ€™re almost halfway there!!

Thanks to our incredible PUSD community, weโ€™ve raised $476,875 toward our $1 million Giving Fund Goal! ๐ŸŽ‰

Your support helps fund the programs student rely on every day - from elementary libraries and Outdoor Education to student wellness and educator & student grants.

Our goal is !00% family participation. We ask families to donate $750 per student or $1,500 per family.

A recurring gift of just $65/month is a simple way to support student all year long and make a lasting impact.

๐Ÿ“šโค๏ธ โ€œOur middle school libraries are incredibly versatile places, beloved by our students, well utilized by our teachers and staff, and celebrated by our campus communities for all their unique offerings. Our libraries are essential to the vibrant learning environment of each of our schools, and we are immensely grateful to PPIE for your shared vision and support in keeping our doors open full time to our students.โ€

๐Ÿ“šโค๏ธ Hart Librarian April Werner invited her students to answer the prompt, "I love my library because..." Their heartfelt responses are a wonderful reminder why PPIE funds school libraries. They are so much more than booksโ€”they're places of belonging, discovery, and connection.

๐Ÿ’ญ It is a beautiful and diverse place of knowledge and peace.
๐Ÿ’ญ Itโ€™s a place to gather with friends, before school, after school and during lunch.
๐Ÿ’ญ I can get books to improve my reading skills.
๐Ÿ’ญ It is a place to expand our knowledge and learn about the world.
๐Ÿ’ญ It is a source of information and truth.
๐Ÿ’ญ Itโ€™s a quiet and calm environment where I can read, learn, think and work.
๐Ÿ’ญ It has so many new, exciting and inclusive books.
๐Ÿ’ญ It has ALL KINDS of books, including ones that connect to MY personality and MY experiences.
๐Ÿ’ญ Itโ€™s a safe space for when my life is rough.
๐Ÿ’ญ I get to work on my homework and have a quiet place to read.
๐Ÿ’ญ Itโ€™s where I get some time to myself and I can relax.
๐Ÿ’ญ It has books that tell stories and help create another world for the mind.
๐Ÿ’ญ Everyone is so kind and there is an abundance of stories waiting to be discovered.
๐Ÿ’ญ It is welcoming, warm, calm, cozy and comfy- a perfect place.
๐Ÿ’ญ The library is where I feel at peace.

๐Ÿ“š ๐ŸŒˆ Students don't just come to the library for books - they come because it's a place where they feel safe, supported, and at home. In a screen-filled world, libraries continue to be one of the most meaningful spaces on campus.

โ€œThat's not easy magic to capture or create, it takes hard work from the librarians and volunteers.โ€ - Stephen Haycraft, Harvest Park Librarian

By investing in library access, PPIE is helping ensure that every student has opportunities to learn, explore, connect, and thrive.
