The California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) announced
funding for nine new summer internship programs for high school
students, many in the SF Bay Area:
"These programs extend last year’s pilot program of the Creativity
Awards, which encourage California’s young people to pursue careers
developing the next generation of stem cell-based therapies."
CIRM approves $1.7 million for high school research opportunities fostering creativity | California. Press release from the March 21, 2012 meeting of the governing board of the california Institute for Regenerative Medicine, the state stem cell agency created by proposition 71, including funding of the creativity awards, discussion of the 2012 strategic plan and an update on the disease teams.

Physics seen on the weekend: Used my camera phone to check if my IR camera remote was working. Try it with a remote! iPhones don't work though...
