Volunteered at White Pony Express (WPE), a Concord-based nonprofit dedicated to fighting hunger and poverty. WPE rescues surplus food and essential goods and redistributes them to underserved communities across Contra Costa County.

Our group worked in the food rescue section, sorting donations across stations like breads, fruits, vegetables, and desserts. I helped at the fruit table—sorting, bagging, and composting items as needed.

It was a fun and rewarding experience, especially knowing the food we prepared will go directly to families in need. 💛

Our deepest gratitude for your generous donation to our community, Chris McDaniels and community. Thanks to your contribution, we were able to provide three Cambodian families with the opportunity to participate in the Sheriff and You Foundation’s 6th Annual Groceries for Families event. It was truly a meaningful experience for everyone involved.

We arrived at 8 a.m. and were immediately struck by the sight of so many people lined up in front of Lucky's Supermarket on Sloat Blvd, all coming together with hope and anticipation. To witness the smooth and efficient operation of the event firsthand, along with the genuine smiles on the faces of families was an experience that truly warmed my heart.

Our three families were overjoyed with their grocery shopping, and receiving a whole turkey was such a special bonus. It’s incredible to see how something as simple as groceries can bring so much joy and peace of mind to people. Your donation made that possible, and for that, we are deeply grateful.
More than just providing for immediate needs, this event is a reminder of the power of community. It’s not just about passing out groceries, it’s about creating a ripple of kindness, and giving families the support they need to thrive. It’s about passing the baton to the next generation, showing them the importance of generosity, empathy, and community spirit. We hope to carry this forward, helping others as we were helped, and raising the next generation to do the same.

Thank you again for making this all possible, and for being a part of something that truly makes a difference in the lives of so many. Your kindness is deeply appreciated, and it will not be forgotten.

🧶 Handmade with Love – Baby Crisscross Strap Dress 💚

I just finished crocheting a baby crisscross strap dress for my granddaughter, made entirely by hand with Red Heart Classic One Value yarn, 100% acrylic (16 oz / 454 g) in the soft and lovely Green Pea color. 🍃

It’s always a joy seeing a project come together stitch by stitch. This one felt extra special. I wanted it to have a simple, timeless look with a touch of creativity. When it came time to add buttons, I couldn’t find any around the house, so I improvised and used silver balls from one of my earrings instead! ✨ They turned out to be the perfect finishing touch, adding a bit of sparkle and uniqueness to the front of the dress.

And the best part, seeing my granddaughter wearing it. She looks absolutely beautiful in her little handmade dress, and my heart couldn’t be happier. ❤️❤️❤️

Every stitch holds a piece of love, patience, and pride, a keepsake made not just with yarn, but with a grandmother’s heart. 💕

🧶 My Handmade Crochet Set — Papaya Perfection 🍑

I just finished my latest crochet creation, a ruffled top paired with a pencil skirt featuring ruffled sleeves and a flared waist. The entire set was made using Yarnspirations Red Heart Classic One Value yarn, 100% acrylic (16 oz / 454 g) in the beautiful Papaya shade.

It took me about a week and a half to complete this two-piece outfit, and I’m so proud of how it turned out! The color is vibrant and warm, the texture feels soft yet sturdy, and the ruffles add that perfect feminine touch.

What started as a skein of yarn became something uniquely mine, full of patience, love, and creativity. Every stitch tells a little story of time well spent. 😆💕✨
