先自我介紹一下。我是艾蜜莉老師, 與家人居住於美國西岸。 以前為全職家庭主婦時, 喜歡在家教自家小孩中文, 幾年下來, 收集了各式各樣的教具,及從台灣扛回來的各式圖書。 而在機緣下, 成為了中文私人家教老師.
幾年教學下來的心得、認為孩子們在沈浸式的環境裡玩中文、發展聽說讀寫等能力、是最自然的語言學習方式。特別是在遊戲化的活動中、更能夠幫助孩子們運用到課堂中所學習到的語言和文化。
之所以取名為慢學院、是認為語言的學習是急不來的。與其在壓力下學習、倒不如在快樂的環境中、放慢步調及紮實的玩樂中文！
教材是以台灣僑委員會發行的華語向前走為基礎、配合勞做及帶動唱。課程內容及進度會跟照班上孩子們的程度為基準來設計。
