PPMS parents, we’re looking for volunteers to help with Red Ribbon Week Oct 23-31.

We’re looking for parents who would be willing to speak with students for about 15–20 minutes about making healthy choices. Ideally we'd like to have enough speakers to cover each PACE for 1 day of the week.

Speakers could tie the conversation into their career or simply share how choices like avoiding smoking, va**ng, alcohol, and drugs have impacted their own life or what they see in their profession.

For example, in years past, PPMS has had a pulmonologist show students what smoking and va**ng can do to the lungs, and a physician talk about healthy eating and what that looks like in everyday life.

You do not need to be a healthcare professional to participate. We’d love to hear from parents with a variety of backgrounds who can share a positive, real-life perspective with our students.

Thank you for helping make Red Ribbon Week meaningful for our PPMS students! ❤️💙

☕ Your Coffee Run Can Make a Difference! ☕️

We’re excited to partner with Scooter’s Coffee for an easy way to give back to our schools! From August 10–April 30, Scooter’s will donate $1 for every qualifying purchase of $5 or more at the 1740 Wabash Ave., Springfield location.

Getting started is simple! Download the Scooter’s Coffee app, then scan the partnership QR code to select PPCUSD8 PTO as your school community. Scan your app at checkout or order through the app to make your purchase count!

Check out the flyers attached to the Friday Forecast for both QR codes—one to download the app and one to connect with our community partnership at the participating location. Spread the word to family and friends, every qualifying coffee run adds up! ❤️
