Very proud to be posting this. I started training BJJ with in 2010 and even though I got my ass handed to me by everyone at the academy, I immediately fell in love. It’s a puzzle I’ll never solve and if you know me, you know I get obsessed with things I can’t figure out. It’s been a challenging process with my work schedule, in fact I barely trained from 2014 when I got my purple belt to 2021. Last fall I dedicated myself to progressing and this week it finally happened. I was presented my brown belt by my brothers and teammates Black Belt and Black Belt shraff_ with the blessing of Cesar and teammate Black Belt . Jason you’re a warrior and a gentleman and I’m grateful AF to know you and call you a friend. Thank you for traveling across the globe and giving up time with your babies to train my old ass. ❤️🙏🏼.. Josh and Matheus you guys have been there for me since DAY ONE , you’ve seen me at my highest and my lowest and never left my side. You can’t put a price on that type of loyalty and I’m proud to call you family. I love the s**t out of you guys! ❤️ I gotta thank my homies Brown belt and World Champ and Brown Belt .wags for traveling in to keep me honest and help me get those reps in. Love and appreciate you both. Last but definitely not least I want to thank Black Belt and owner of Gracie Tampa South for going out of his way to get me on the mat and always making time for me. Love and respect you brother, you’re the real deal. Good days and bad days, there’s only truth on the mat. You’re exposed one way or another. If you know what I mean then you know what I fu***ng mean. Respect to everyone willing to put it all out there. Let’s finish what we started. Ossss.. 👊🏽

Great team performance this weekend, and inspiring to say the least. Starting it off with Darrin Tinsley traveling to Brazil and taking Gold at the Brazilian Nationals! Darrin is 52 years old, trains BJJ 2x a day and Yoga 3x a day, travels the world to compete, even as a featherweight, always does absolute and currently ranked #1 in his division for IBJJF, something which he pursued as a goal and achieved. Then taking Gold at High Rollerz, showed up on 15 hour notice without training for 3 weeks (from injury and work) and won all 4 matches by Sub in a dominating fashion. But even more impressive is how Nick kept cool during the finals match, where he faced a very disrespectful opponent, who Nick would Kneebar around the 20 min mark. The whole crowd got behind him in that one. , won 3 matches for silver at High Rollerz in Gi, with one of his best performances to date. He doubled his training leading up, lost a bunch of weight, and made many advancements in his game to prepare for this, and it showed, big time. didn't get the result he wanted, but he has shown so much improvement in his mental and BJJ game, I know his standout moment will come in due time. With patience, persistence, and perseverance, anything is possible. Great work 👏👏 👏

Hello everyone,
Most of you have message me and asked about how Julian is doing. I feel like I'm ready to share with all of you on how my fighter is doing. After his 3rd open heart surgery his progress was up and down but not moving forward. During recovery time we wont know when, why, or how it happened but he had some type of brain injury. Neurologists said it was loss of oxygen to the brain which caused him to have dystonia (involuntary spasms and abnormal posture) He went through an mri but nothing showed up on scans that gave them a clear explanation for his dystonia. The mri only showed loss of brain volume. He is also battling with fevers off and on, and from infection to infection. A week ago doctors told us there is not much they can do at this point. He's not a candidate for a heart transplant. His heart disease is getting worse in time and his lungs are retaining more and more fluid. Kelly and I have made a difficult but I feel a loving decision. We decided to give him to God where he's not suffering anymore. Our heart warrior has been through enough. Juju will continue to fight until his last breath. I pray to God to give Kelly and I strength to go through this difficult time. Please continue to pray for our family❤
