DVC ICC: Inter-Club Council Diablo Valley College

The Contra Costa Community College District Police are currently investigating a non-specific anonymous threat that was discovered in the form of graffiti on the Pleasant Hill Campus Wednesday afternoon. The graffiti was found in men’s restrooms in the Humanities building and in the Library.

*The college will remain open Thursday with all classes and services running as scheduled while we continue the investigation.*

There will be a significant increase in police presence on the campus to ease any anxiety that our community may be feeling.

*Counselors will be available this week and next to help students who are experiencing increased anxiety.*

DUE TO THE UNPREDICTABLE AND POOR AIR QUALITY WE ARE EXPERIENCING THROUGHOUT CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, THE CONTRA COSTA COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT HAS DECIDED TO CLOSE ALL LOCATIONS – EFFECTIVE 3:00 P.M. THURSDAY, FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. ALL CAMPUS FACILITIES ARE CLOSED FOR ALL EVENTS. WE WILL REOPEN MONDAY, NOVEMBER 19. TO MONITOR THE CURRENT AIR QUALITY, PLEASE VISIT THE BAY AREA AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT.

In addition....Due to the college closure, the last day to drop with a "W" for full-term classes with the deadline of November 16 has been extended to Monday, November 19. All drops must be completed in-person.

The air quality has been so poor in the northern bay, that most schools have made the decision to suspend school pending safer air conditions. A lot of schools that have made the decision to suspend class have a better air quality report than us in Pleasant Hill! On behalf of ICC and the students of Diablo Valley College, we would like to wish all veteran's past and present a wonderful weekend. Our peace and liberty comes at a price, and the individuals who serve our country that are willing to pay it have our unconditional gratitude.

It is because of all of you that we have the privilege to vote, can sleep soundly at night, have the opportunity to an education, and have peace amongst our neighbors.

Thank you for serving our country, protecting our freedoms, and the sacrifices you have made to ensure them, every day. No great monument to you or your fallen can ever commemorate the dedication, duty, or daring you demonstrate. We can never repay you, but we can at least remind you of how special you are to everyone around you.

The election campaign for ASDVC officers begins Wednesday. Voting will be Oct. 8-9 in the HSF Building/Commons and SRC Commons.

For many students, being insecure about where their next meal will come from can be a huge burden for
their academic progress. That’s why, with the help of generous school and community organizations, the DVC Food Pantry is officially open to all students! Located in the Multicultural Center of the
Margaret Lesher Student Union, this resource will offer free non-perishable food to current students of
both the Pleasant Hill and San Ramon campus. This is a valuable step to remediate a serious barrier that
can hinder students from success, and we hope to reach out to as many students as possible! To learn
