The teacher is responsible for the care and education of an assigned group of children. The teachers are responsible for implementing the curriculum, guiding children’s behavior, assessing children’s progress, communicating with parents, and providing an engaging, healthy, and safe learning environment.

-The teacher must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job (e.g., able to lift children) able to stoop, bend, sit, and stand for short periods of time).
-Should be knowledgeable of child development to successfully plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
-Should be able to work collaboratively with others in a team-teaching environment.
-Be committed to learning and growing as an early childhood professional.
-Must have a warm, supportive attitude toward children.
-Must be reliable.
-Must be flexible in receiving assignments or adapting to changes in the program.
-Must be willing to accept supervision in order to improve performance.
-Must be willing to perform other duties as required.
