37th NYACOA District Convention | Harlem, New York 🤙🏾

The Brothers of Upsilon Kappa were proud to represent our chapter at the 37th NYACOA District Convention this past weekend.

Coming together with brothers from across New York offered an opportunity to consider how the decisions made at convention translate into meaningful work within our chapters and communities. We valued the exchange of perspectives, the fellowship shared, and our role in advancing the business of Alpha.

Our Chapter President, Bro. Ryan Williams (YK-SPR26-2) had the opportunity to speak in the business session on Friday on behalf of the chapter and also participated in the Scholar’s Bowl on Saturday.

We return to Plattsburgh with a deeper appreciation for the brotherhood that supports our chapter and the responsibility we share in carrying Alpha’s legacy forward. ‘06 🖤💛

This October, the brothers of the Upsilon Kappa Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month by honoring survivors, supporting those facing breast cancer, and remembering those we have lost. 🎀

We also recognize the families, friends, and caregivers who support their loved ones through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. 🖤💛

✊🏽 OUR HANDS DON’T HAZE ✊🏽

‼️ Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is a non-pledging and non-hazing organization, and strictly prohibits hazing of all forms. ‼️

This week, the Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Upsilon Kappa Chapter, pause to reaffirm our commitment to fostering a culture rooted in respect, unity, accountability, and genuine brotherhood. Hazing has no place in our organization or in our communities, and we believe that brotherhood should be built through shared values and experiences built on a foundation of respect and trust. 🙏🏽

As we continue to uphold the principles of our Fraternity, we also encourage everyone to stand against hazing and promote environments where every member is valued, respected, and supported. 💯

Unity, not cruelty. Brotherhood, not hazing. 🤙🏽💛🖤

Last weekend, Bro. Ryan Williams attended the Alpha Eastern Region’s College Brothers’ Retreat at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey. 🤙🏽

Throughout the weekend, Bro. Williams connected with College Brothers from across the Eastern Region and took part in several sessions focused on leadership, personal growth, and planning ahead for the fraternal year coming. ✨

The retreat also provided an opportunity to build meaningful connections, exchange ideas, and learn from Brothers who share the same commitment to growth, leadership, and service while creating a space to learn from those who have had great success and passed down information that will help in the long run. As the year continues, Bro. Williams looks forward to bringing these lessons back to campus and continuing to do the good work! 💯

Last weekend, the Brothers of the Upsilon Kappa Chapter had the pleasure of attending For the Culture, hosted by the Phenomenal Phi Chapter of Lambda Pi Upsilon Sorority, Latinas Poderosas Unidas, Inc. ✨

The event brought the SUNY Plattsburgh community together for an afternoon filled with music, performances, food, local vendors, and the celebration of culture. Thank you to the Phenomenal Phi Chapter for creating a space where everyone could connect, celebrate diversity, and enjoy great energy together!

Yesterday morning, Bro. Ryan Williams partnered with the brothers of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity to assist Kiwanis with their Street Coin Drive. 🤙🏽

This initiative benefits children of first responders and veterans in the Plattsburgh area by sending them to summer camps and other activities in the community. 💯

We’re proud to contribute to a cause that creates meaningful opportunities for local children and families. Moments like these remind us that service isn’t just about giving our time, but about making a difference where it matters most. ‼️
