Remove Sexually Explicit Materials from the Platteville Middle School

From the Platteville School District Superintendent:

"The Book Reconsideration Committee has completed its task of following district policy 361 - Selection Policy for Learning Resources and Library Materials.
According to the policy, the full report can be requested by the board, the superintendent, and the questioner. Please make that request if you would like to view the entire report.
Here is a summary based on the report:
The following materials shall be retained at the Middle School Library:
It's Perfectly Normal by Robie Harris
Heartstopper Volumes 1-4 by Alice Oceman
Flamer by Mike Curato
Me, Earl, and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews
MAD Magazine

The following material shall be moved to the High School Library and available to Middle School students and teachers through inter-school library loan at the discretion of the librarian and educators involved:
All Boys Aren't Blue by George Johnson."

So I guess it's ok for our middle schoolers to learn about drinking cm from a bottle after a circle jerk.

The next Book Reconsideration Committee Meeting will take place tomorrow, Wednesday 1/8 at 4:45pm in the in the new addition of the Middle School.

Please come and show you support for our kids. Also come to show your support for those who were brave enough to speak up regardless of the the blowback. The rumors and attacks come from an unwillingness to be more open minded to people who don't think the exact way they do. These parents only have the the best interests our our children in mind.

Come tomorrow and support our children.

Kind of interesting that one of the acts of misconduct as according to the Student Conduct and Discipline Plan is "Profanity-Swearing, cursing, or making obscene gestures." So the student can't do this, but the school provides resource examples to the students on how to.

There is a meeting today regarding the s*xually explicit books that are in the Platteville Schools libraries. It is open to anyone that would like to attend. Even though public input is not allowed at this time, your presence will make a difference.

From Mr. Boebel: “I am scheduling the initial meeting of the Reconsideration Committee for Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 5 pm in the Middle School Hillmen Hub. (Same location as the Regular Board Meetings.) The best way to describe the meeting is that it is a committee meeting held publicly. Not a meeting with the public. They are open meetings so anyone can attend. The books that have been submitted will be the books being reviewed. There isn't an end time. The target for this meeting is to equip the committee members with the tools to follow the process and set up a timeline.”

All Boys Aren’t Blue by George M. Johnson can be found in the Platteville's Highschool Library as well as the Middle School Library. The book includes a number of s*xually graphic passages. One of which is where two cousins, one adult and one minor engage in s*x with each other and it is shown in a positive light.

Brought to me by a concerned parent.
The annual Outdoor Education put on by the Platteville Middle School for all 6th graders. It is a two night trip to Wisconsin Badger Camp. It is the school for those days. If your student does not go, you must call the school to report your child as absent.

Apparently for two or three years now the children get to room with each other based on what gender they identify as.

From the book titled This Day In June. Available at the Platteville Middle School and Neal Wilkins Elementary School libraries. The book focuses on a Pride Parade and includes depictions of grown men dressed in drag. The people dressed up in nun's outfits are the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgences. They are an anti-Catholic hate group who are know for having “Condom Savior Mass," “carrying a 20-foot replica of a pen*s” at their street events, dancing in the street naked, holding Drag Queen Story Hours, and using the Crucifix as a stripper pole. Their motto is to “Go forth and sin some more!”

As you go out to vote for the Platteville school board today, think about this book. From the book "Will Grayson, Will Grayson" by David Levithan and John Green which can be found in in the Platteville Middle School and High school Libraries. Think about the literary value of Mickey and Minnie Mouse using a French baguette as a d***o, objectifying women, and other s*xual things found in this book as you cast your vote.
