🍎 It's National Apple Month!
Before an apple reaches your kitchen table, a lot of work happens in the orchard.

Apple production is a year-round job. Growers prune trees during the colder months, care for blossoms and pollinators in the spring, manage orchards throughout the summer, and carefully harvest fruit when it reaches the right stage of maturity.

For many orchards, fall harvest is one of the busiest times - is there an orchard near you that has pick-your-own apples this time of year?

The next time you pick up a bag of apples, visit an orchard, or enjoy a glass of c***r, remember the farmers and workers who helped bring that harvest from the tree to you.

🧙‍♀️ Medical & Personal Care Magic

• Exorcise bad prescriptions: Have a pharmacist review potions and pills. Some can make a senior feel as dizzy as a spinning possessed doll, especially over-the-counter sleep aids or nerve pills.
• Upgrade the crystal balls: Get those eyes and ears checked. Wearing old bifocals outside can make flat ground look like a terrifying optical illusion, leading to a major tumble.
• Ditch the phantom footwear: Walking around in smooth socks or loose slippers turns shiny floors into a slip-and-slide. Swap them for shoes with a monster-grip non-skid sole.

All month long, the National Grange is celebrating one of America’s favorite fruits and the farmers, orchards, traditions, and communities behind it.
From fresh-picked apples and c***r to pies, sauces, and treasured family recipes, apples are a familiar reminder of how closely our everyday lives are connected to agriculture.

🎣 NYS Free Fishing Day! This Saturday the 26th. No license required! 🐟

To celebrate National hunting and fishing day New York State DEC is waving freshwater fishing license requirements for the day.

This is a great time to take someone who hasn't been fishing in a while and explore many of New York's beautiful lakes and streams while taking in the beautiful Fall foliage at the same time.

All other fishing rules and regulations still apply.
