💚 Play-Doh Fun! 💛

Play-Doh is always a favorite at preschool! Our Littles were busy rolling, squishing, squeezing, cutting, snipping, pressing, and creating today. 🥰

What looks like simple play is actually fantastic learning! Working with Play-Doh helps strengthen those little hand and finger muscles needed for holding a pencil, writing, cutting with scissors, buttoning, and other everyday skills. ✂️✏️

And the best part? There are no directions needed—just imagination and creativity! Give a Little some Play-Doh and a few tools, and it’s amazing to see what they come up with. ❤️

Today our Little Learners got to think about all the different activities we enjoy during center time and choose their very favorite! Each child placed their choice on our graph, giving us a fun, hands-on way to practice making choices, counting, comparing, and graphing.

Our Little Learners are already making so much progress! ❤️ Each day we practice in our reusable learning books—tracing, writing, shapes, colors, numbers, and following directions.

I love watching their confidence grow as they work at their own individual level and pace. Some activities are challenging at first, but with repetition, encouragement, and lots of “write, wipe, and try again,” those little hands and minds get stronger every day! ✏️🍎

Preschool isn’t about being perfect—it’s about practicing, trying, learning, and being proud of our progress! 🥰

🎶 Learning Through Songs! 🎶

One of our favorite ways to learn at preschool is through music and movement! ❤️ Today we used songs to help us learn about our classroom centers and the different ways we play and learn in each one.

Songs make new concepts easier to remember while building language, listening skills, memory, sequencing, and confidence. And, of course, learning is always a little more fun when we can sing along! 🎵🥰

Creative play is such an important part of our preschool day! Our Littles are given the freedom to imagine, build, draw, design, create, and explore using a variety of materials.

There is no “right way” to create during this time—and that’s what makes it so special! ❤️ While they think they’re simply playing, they’re developing problem-solving skills, fine-motor strength, independence, confidence, and creativity.

I love watching an idea pop into their heads and seeing what those little hands create! 🥰

✏️ Learning the Little Things That Make a BIG Difference!

At the beginning of the school year, we spend lots of time learning the little classroom skills that help our Littles become confident, independent learners! ❤️

Today we practiced using our glue sticks properly, staying inside the lines, sharing our supplies, sitting nicely beside our friends, and remembering to keep our hands to ourselves. These may seem like simple things, but they are such important preschool skills—and wonderful practice for those little hands! 🖍️✂️🧴

And just look at those adorable pencils they created! ✏️💛🩷🤎 Each one is as unique as the Little who made it. I think they turned out SO cute! 🥰

At Lori’s Little Learners Preschool, even learning how to use a glue stick is part of getting ready for BIG things! 🍎📚✏️

🪙 GUESS THE GUMBALL! 🪙🍬

This is one activity my littles DO NOT let me forget! 😂 Every day they are ready for Guess the Gumball!

Our Leader of the Day gets to visit our classroom bank and choose a coin—a penny, nickel, dime, or quarter. Before anything else, they have to tell us which coin they have AND how much it is worth. 💰🧠

Then comes the exciting part… GUESS THE GUMBALL COLOR! 🌈

Our leader predicts which color will come out of the gumball machine and then inserts the coin. If their prediction is correct… 🎉 EVERYONE gets a gumball! If it isn’t, we remind our friend, “That’s okay!” ❤️ Tomorrow brings another chance!

But our learning isn’t finished yet! Our Supply Helper takes the gumball color and adds it to our monthly graph. 📊 At the end of the month, we’ll use our graph to determine which color appeared the most, which appeared the least, and compare our results.

One little classroom tradition packs in SO much learning:

Today our littles worked on sequencing a morning routine with Emily Elizabeth! 💛

They looked carefully at each picture and worked together to decide what happens first, next, and last—then glued the pictures in the correct order. ✂️🧴🪥👕

Activities like this are so much more than a craft! Our preschoolers are practicing sequencing, logical thinking, following directions, independence, and understanding everyday routines.

They were very serious about deciding exactly where Emily Elizabeth’s pictures belonged! 🥰 I love watching those little minds work, discuss their choices, and help each other.

🐝 Learning About Our Preschool Schedule! 🐝

Today at Lori’s Little Learners Preschool, we practiced learning about our daily preschool schedule!

The littles worked together to put picture cards in order and talk about what happens throughout our day—from center activities and calendar time to snack, creative play, lunch, rest time, and more. 🧩📚🍎🎨

Knowing what comes first, next, and last helps our preschoolers understand routines, practice sequencing, and feel confident about what to expect each day. I loved seeing them study the pictures, make their choices, and help one another figure out what comes next! 🥰

Every part of our preschool day is an opportunity to learn, play, grow, and build independence! 🐝❤️
