A parent really said, “There is no way I would pay someone to just play with my kids every day when I can do that myself.”
My response. "My daycare is not for you. And that’s okay." ❤️
My parents know my expectations from the very first interview. They know my philosophy, what I offer, and what they can expect when they sign my contract.
I have been the provider who did worksheets, crafts, and structured activities all day. That provider no longer exists.
Today, my daycare is built around learning through play, real life experiences, social development, communication, independence, problem solving, creativity, and preschool readiness. Just because a child is playing doesn't mean they aren't learning.
In fact, my kids learn things every single day that go far beyond a worksheet. They are learning how to communicate, share, follow directions, make choices, solve problems, interact with others, and become independent little people.
And let's be clear, playing with children is WORK. 😂
What I do works for me.
It works for my parents.
And most importantly, it works for my kids.
I don't try to be the daycare for everybody. I provide the type of care I believe in, and the families who choose me understand and value it.
If my daycare isn't what you're looking for, that's perfectly fine. There is a provider out there for you. But my daycare is not for everyone, and it doesn't have to be. 💕

I can honestly say that when I say Learn and Play, I truly mean it. Learning doesn't just happen at the table, it happens everywhere we go.
We take walks around the neighborhood and practice number recognition by reading the numbers on mailboxes. We also count houses, talked about colors, observe nature, and build language skills through conversation along the way.
Children learn best when they're actively engaged, having fun, and exploring the world around them. Every walk, every game, and every adventure becomes a learning opportunity at Chandra's Home Daycare. That's what learning through play is all about! 🌿🚶🏾‍♀️🔢📚

There's always that one daycare child who thinks they're the assistant teacher! 😂❤️
Today, one of my little ones decided it was time for everyone to get a workout. 💪🏾
"Everybody line up!" "Jump!" "Run in place!" "Touch your toes!" " Do push ups", "No talking, "keep going!" 🤣
The funniest part, at some point the other kids actually listened! I just stood back and watched my little "assistant" take the job very seriously.
These are the moments that make running a daycare so special. Their confidence, leadership, imagination, and big personalities keep me smiling every single day. ❤️

To continue providing the best care possible for your children, Chandra's Daycare will be closed on Thursday, July 23, 2026, for a Personal/Mental Health Day.
As a childcare provider, taking time to rest and recharge is important so I can return refreshed, focused, and ready to give your little ones the love, patience, and quality care they deserve every day.
