At this week's Board Meeting, we recognized two groups as ! Our Technology and Information Management teams were recognized for the tremendous work they do behind the scenes to keep our District moving forward. From preparing more than 4,000 devices and supporting a major transition to Apple technology to improving data systems, connectivity, phones, and other infrastructure, their expertise and problem-solving help create the tools and systems our students and staff need to thrive. Our Teaching & Learning Department was also recognized as for their intentional investment in instructional leadership and educator learning throughout the summer. From leadership retreats and Pirate Bootcamp to Summer Learning Academy and professional learning for administrators and staff, this team has been building the relationships, systems, and instructional practices that help ensure meaningful learning experiences and continued growth for every Platte County Pirate. 🧡🖤

Thank you for following along with our series this week! Before the first day of school on Tuesday, August 25, we asked Dr. White a few more questions to wrap things up. ⚓🧡

What are you most looking forward to as Superintendent? "I'm excited to continue building on the strong tradition of excellence here in Platte County, and to keep finding ways for our students and staff to reach even greater heights."

What's something people might be surprised to learn about you? “My son and I have gone salmon fishing in Alaska the past two summers. I really enjoy hunting, fishing, or spending time outdoors with my family.”

What drew your family to PCR-3? “We were looking for a great school district and a strong community to raise our kids, and Platte County stood out immediately. We wanted to be part of a community that supports one another, and that's exactly what we found here."

What are you most excited about for our students this year? “I want to make sure the learning experiences our students have connect to real skills and knowledge that matter well beyond the classroom, whatever path they choose after graduation."

Dr. White and his family are proud to call Platte County home, and he's honored to serve as our Superintendent. Here's to a great first day of school on Tuesday! 🏴‍☠️🧡

🧡🖤 2️⃣0️⃣ THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS # 1️⃣9️⃣: Parents can use Parent Portal (www.plattecountyschooldistrict.com/parents/parent_portal) to keep up to date on grades, assignments, attendance, and make meal payments and pay fees. New parents who have not received their PowerSchool Parent Portal Access ID and Password at registration days or back-to-school nights can either pick theirs up at future back-to-school nights (PCHS, PCMS, Platte Purchase) or look for them to come home with the elementary student.

🧡🖤🎉 For the Pirate Pride portion of tonight's meeting, the Board recognized NCC SkillsUSA students who brought home two national championships from the SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference in Atlanta, (the first time in NCC history having two in the same year)! Congratulations to Grace Marier, Harmoni Leal, Landen Higgins and Alejandra Flores on their national titles in Job Skills Demo and Career Pathways Showcase in Law Enforcement, and to PCHS/NCC junior Camden Noller on his ninth-place national finish in Industrial Motor Controls. We also celebrate the dedication of NCC’s SkillsUSA advisors and the lasting legacy of the late Officer Darrick Bruns, whose more than 20 years of mentorship helped students achieve seven national titles and countless other successes. A memorial scholarship has been established for NCC students in Officer Bruns's honor. 🧡🖤❤️💙

Over the last few days, we've shared Dr. White's journey into education and the experiences that shaped him as a leader. Today, let's look ahead. 🧡🖤

Dr. White believes PCR-3 has a long tradition of excellence, in academics, activities, and the overall student experience, and his goal as Superintendent is to build on that strong foundation. As Deputy Superintendent, he already helped lead the District's 2025-30 Strategic Plan, developed alongside staff, students, parents, and community members.

One area Dr. White is especially excited about is expanding real-world learning opportunities for students, making sure the skills they gain connect directly to whatever path they choose after graduation.

➡️ He wants to make sure all PCR-3 students are BEYOND READY for the next phase of their life. ⬅️

He's also focused on strengthening the connection between our schools and our community, and continuing to expand access to high-quality early learning across the District.

One more day of ! See you here tomorrow. 🧡🖤
