ThoroughQuest currently has several lovely horses/ponies available for new partnerships at our fully-heated facility located in Elgin, IL.

🦄 Easy-going Walk/Trot to 2’6 Three-Ring Teacher - available for 2-day or 3-day shareboard

Barnaby - 2013 16.2h Thoroughbred gelding - One of the easiest-natured horses that always comes out with a sweet, willing demeanor. Owner is off to college and Barnaby is eager for another teammate to spend his days with in the interim and give him all the cuddles. Can happily pack around the greenest of riders through advanced and has experience in all three rings. Easy go/easy whoa, skip change, keeps a nice rhythm. A big love-bug looking to share his skills with another eager student!

Chandler - 2010 16.2h KWPN gelding - A true been-there-done-that type with many successful show years in all three rings. With his owner busy at college, Chandler is looking for a bonus-partner to fill his ride card and continue to tell him how handsome he is 🙂 Leg-and-stick ride, soft mouth, easy whoa, auto lead change. Well-schooled on the flat and straight-forward over fences. Well-suited to an intermediate rider with a good foundation of independent aids. Sadie - 2006 16.3h Oldenburg mare - The absolute best mare to learn the ropes on and can do any level rider from the barest beginner to winning in the learning levels at the horse shows and doubles as a fantastic practice horse for more experienced riders. Knows all the fun flatwork moves and is a super candidate for someone looking to expand those skills. Always a judge favorite and turns heads wherever she goes. Packs right around, auto changes, easy go/easy whoa. A very quality mare and a super partner to have on your team.

🦄 Sweet and simple Walk/Trot to 2’3 Three-Ring Teacher - available for 2-day or 3-day in-house lease

Willow - 2007 14.1h grade mare - Super teacher who has worked with a variety of riders of all ages, sizes, and experience levels. Perfect size for my petite adults! Can play in any ring from the crossrails to the .75m jumpers. Very straightforward pony, carries her own pace, skip change, easy to handle on the ground, stands for farrier - all the good pony things and then some. Same pony at home, shows, on the trails…just a solid all-around pony ready for her next kid or small adult to love on her!

ISO- Fall Help

As we near the end of summer and our college kids will be heading back to school, we are looking for the following.

A high school or college guy who likes to work outside and with machines. You would assist the owner/property manager with mowing, dragging rings, manure removal, painting and all around property maintenance. This position is perfect for someone looking to work on the weekend while they are in school.

A person comfortable with working with Horses. You would Feed, water medicate, bring Horses in and out from the pastures. General chores involving the Horses. This is not a Stall Cleaning position.

What we are looking for-
Self motivated and does not need to be constantly monitored.
Shows up on time and rarely calls off.
Definitely does not call off if we are away at a horse show.
Has reliable transportation.
Speaks English clearly.
Has a strong work ethic treating the place like your own.
Has a great daily attitude. We don’t do grumpy!
Knows how to stay off the phone while working.
Understand the need to not stand around and chat with everyone.

Stall available-

We have a rare opening of one stall currently. If you appreciate a relaxed atmosphere for yourself and your horse, highly educational lessons and training, and a great group of people to hang out with, this is the place for you! In the winter we are a fully heated facility. We are careful to set up our lessons and training in the winter so that the indoor arena is not overly crowded. We strive to keep the ring quiet and relaxed. We travel to both A and B Hunter/Jumper shows. We are set up to offer extensive turnout both day and overnight weather permitting. If you have a young horse, we have an exceptional training program for those kids!
We excel at helping both horses and riders gain confidence in the ring.

It’s been a fun few months of making new partnerships and we are overdue for some updates!

🦄 Josie Secker-Schaffrath on the lease of Hiccup - we are having so much fun with this duo’s young pony journey and they’ve already successfully debuted their first show together.

🦄 Honeycrisp - “Apple”, who is currently loving life taking the very best care of her lease kid in sunny Texas, enjoying new experiences like sleep-away camp this month!

🦄 Maddie Miquelon on the purchase of Car Emily Dorothy - “Emily” - this one is a long time coming, but we are so thrilled to make it official. This pair has developed such a special partnership and we can’t wait to see it continue to grow.
