Three of our St. Gregory moms have family and friends who have been directly affected by the earthquake in Colombia and its aftermath. They are organizing a small relief effort to collect essential supplies that will be delivered to Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) in Doral, which is receiving donations to be sent to Colombia. St. Gregory will act as a donation drop-off point for our families who would like to contribute. Please see the attached flyer with more information. Donations may be dropped off in the breezeway through Friday, August 21. Thank you for any support for these families in Colombia who are going through such a difficult time.

As part of the Junior High Peace Retreat students made a tessellation of doves. This is a lot like our school community and our world. The students were reminded that we all have our own gifts, personalities, and differences, but we are all connected. What we do affects the people around us. One person choosing kindness can bring light into someone else's darkness. One person choosing peace can change the atmosphere around them. The prayer of St. Francis reminds us to be instruments of God's peace. We don't have to do something huge to make a difference. Sometimes, bringing light means doing one small thing.

The Junior High team held a retreat day for our 7th and 8th grade students. The day began with mass led by Fr. Lima. Each class had a different activity focused on peace then the day ended with a rosary to Mary Queen of Peace.
