🍂🎃Adventure at the Pumpkin Patch! 🎃🍂
Our VPK and Kindergarten enjoyed a wonderful day exploring the pumpkin patch through the lens of curiosity, discovery, and wonder! ✨
Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, the children engaged in meaningful experiences as they observed nature, examined different sizes, shapes, and textures of pumpkins, and shared their ideas through conversations & exploration. From hands-on investigations to joyful moments with friends, every experience became an opportunity for learning.
The pumpkin patch offered endless possibilities for creativity, connection, and inquiry as our young learners used all their senses to explore the beauty of the season. 🍁🧡
We are grateful for these experiences that nurture children's natural curiosity and encourage them to see themselves as capable thinkers, researchers, and explorers!

At The Cilla School, we believe children learn best when they can explore the world through their senses. 🌿✨
This week, our preschoolers engaged in hands-on sensory activities that encouraged curiosity, creativity, and discovery. Using natural materials, loose parts, textures, colors, and open-ended provocations, children investigated, questioned, and expressed their thinking in meaningful ways.
In a Reggio Emilia-inspired environment, sensory experiences are more than play. They are opportunities for children to build relationships, develop problem-solving skills, strengthen fine motor abilities, and communicate their ideas in a hundred different languages.
Watching little hands explore, create, and wonder reminds us that learning begins with curiosity. 💜

In Kindergarten this week, we slowed down to see our neighborhood through the eyes of children. As they documented their walk around our school and then explored Welleby park, they captured moments of environmental print, wonder, beauty, and connection that often go unnoticed. At the park, the environment became a third teacher. Children climbed, balanced, negotiated, collaborated, and discovered new possibilities through movement and play. Their curiosity guided the experience as they investigated natural elements, formed connections with peers, and expressed their ideas in a variety of ways. Their observations remind us that meaningful learning begins with curiosity.

✨Our Kindergarten is filled with creativity, discovery, and teamwork! From painting and storytelling to dramatic play, math exploration, writing, and collaborative group work, our young learners express their thinking in meaningful ways.
