16 BCPS High Schools Ranked Among the Best in the Nation by U.S. News and World Report

Congratulations to the 16 Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) high schools ranked among the top 26% of schools in the nation in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026/27 showcase on Best High Schools. Topping the list for BCPS and scoring within the top 5% of ranked schools are: Millennium 6-12 Collegiate Academy, Pompano Beach High School, William T. McFatter Technical High School and Cypress Bay High School.

U.S. News and World Report’s Best High Schools annual rankings include data on nearly 27,000 public high schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, with 18,000 schools ranked on college readiness, breadth of college curriculum, state assessment performance and proficiency, and graduation rates.

"We’re proud to have our schools ranked among the best in the country. This achievement is something our entire community can celebrate," said BCPS Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn. "These rankings reflect the dedication of our students, the passion of our educators and the support of our families. Most importantly, they show that our students are gaining the knowledge, skills and experiences they need to succeed in college, careers and life.

It was a great first day of school! We started the day at the West Central bus terminal 🚌. Stopped by Hallandale High Magnet to see the new aviation and entrepreneurship program. Next stop was Silver Shores K-8 STEM Academy where we visited a science classroom. Onto Sunrise Middle School to check out the new weight room for the new Sports Academy. We had lunch at Atlantic West Elementary and chatted with the students about their first day and the goals they have for the year. Next stop was Coral Springs High School were we met a local influencer, Junior, and checked out some of the facilities improvements. We were happy to visit the ASL and Law studies classes at Seminole Middle School. Our last school stop was Wingate Oaks and we were very impressed with Mrs.Porter’s art class and the beautiful student creations displayed throughout the school. Ended the day with a press conference to share the stories of a wonderful first day! Looking forward to all the amazing things our students and staff will
accomplish this year 💕.
