What if learning looked less like sitting at a desk…and more like solving real problems, creating something meaningful, working with a team, and discovering what you’re capable of?
This fall, we’re launching The Gathering Table Learning Lab — five-week, project-based learning experiences designed specifically for middle and high school students.
Our first Learning Lab is Entrepreneurship & Innovation, beginning the week of October 19. Over five weeks, students will take an idea from concept to creation as they explore what makes an idea valuable, investigate real-world needs, think through costs and pricing, make decisions, work collaboratively, and ultimately create and pitch their own small business or social enterprise.
And this won’t look like six hours of traditional classroom instruction! Learning Lab days will include hands-on challenges, simulations, research, outdoor learning, individual and team projects, discussion, movement, and plenty of time to actually build and create.
Throughout every Learning Lab, we’ll intentionally develop leadership, teamwork, communication, critical thinking, organization, time management and problem-solving skills while incorporating reading, writing, math, social studies and other academic skills into meaningful real-world work.
I bring more than 20 years of experience as a middle and high school educator, including creating curriculum and teaching social studies, economics, math and business, along with extensive experience in leadership development and experiential learning.

💲 $150 per five-week course
🎓 Step Up approved
Students do not have to commit to the entire year. Each five-week Learning Lab stands on its own, so families can choose the topics that interest them.
Future labs will include Money & Real Life, Community Impact, and Future Ready.
