🚲💙 59 Bikes. 59 Opportunities. Countless Futures Ahead. 💙🚲
Workforce Development Partners is proud to have distributed 59 bicycles to students across Hillsborough County Public Schools, helping remove transportation barriers and creating greater access to school, work, training, and future opportunities.
This initiative was especially meaningful because students were invited to apply and share how reliable transportation would impact their future and specifically how a bicycle would help them get to work, training programs, school, or other educational opportunities. Their stories highlighted the determination, resilience, and commitment these young people have toward achieving their goals.
🩵Student Voices:🩵
“It would impact the way I can get to work. I would be able to finally travel without the expenses of getting an Uber. It would be such an amazing gift for me.” - Chamberlain High School Graduate
“I would use a bike to get to Erwin Tech, this would benefit me because I wouldn’t have a way to school all the time, and it could cause me to miss out on a lot of critical information. I could also use the bike to get to future jobs and this can help me build independence and give me motivation to save towards a car or even an electric bike.” - Chamberlain High School Graduate
“Receiving a bicycle would make a big difference in my ability to access training and career opportunities because it would give me reliable transportation. I wouldn’t have to depend on rides or limited public transit, so I could get to classes, job interviews, or work on time and more consistently. It would also expand the number of places I can reach, giving me more opportunities to learn and earn.” - Freedom High School Graduate
“Receiving a bicycle would make a meaningful difference by giving me reliable transportation to get to and from job opportunities and training programs. It would also help relieve some of the financial and logistical stress on my single mom, who is already doing everything she can to support our family. As a young adult, having this independence would allow me to take more responsibility and contribute while working toward my future.” - Strawberry Crest Graduate
“Having a bike would allow me to help my mom pay bills because I could get a job and bike to it.” - Steinbrenner High School Graduate
We know that reliable transportation can make all the difference. A bike is more than just a way to get from one place to another—it represents independence, momentum, and possibility. For these students, each ride could be a step toward achieving their goals and building the future they envision for themselves. To help ensure students can travel safely and confidently, each recipient received a bicycle, helmet, and lock, providing both mobility and peace of mind as they pursue their future.
Every journey begins with a single step, or in this case, a single ride. We are honored to support their journey and celebrate the incredible potential that lies ahead.
